I started working with a freelance contractor out of Chicago and need to pay her in USD. What's the best way to go about this. It's about $2k USD. Just use Wise? Or Remitly?

How does a guy like this continue to scam people without getting his ass shot? It sounds as though he's scammed over $100K over all these years, guys have lost their lives for much less in this city.
