It's really the green waterproof sheets they put over it. That's not supposed to be flammable, but they used it anyway.
HK media is reporting that the flammable mesh sheets were 1/2 as expensive as the proper stuff that meets fire code. So why would the corrupt construction companies not use them?
Another interesting things people have noted and posted on social media is -- a number of (a lot of?) other high rise construction sites have removed their mesh sheets on the bamboo scaffolding. It doesn't take a genius to put 1+1 together to know what's going on, right?

yeah, good point. what was i thinking.
i'm living deep in poverty while everyone over there is returning their merch at Costco in Shenzen.
By default, the cheapest flights you see on Google Flights are this new economy light class (even on a long haul international) and they don't even include a checked bag.
Makes you feel like you're getting jewed when you get the standard economy.
EDIT: Air Canada standard economy doesn't even include seat selection, fucking bitches.

I don’t think based on building standards, materials and fire suppression systems in buildings that would ever be possible to get to that point unless the whole city is burning down like LA wildfire times 10.

If in fact they knew they were required to use a minimum grade of green covering for safety reasons, but they decided to go cheaper just to save money, then straight to jail.
Oh man, I remember the days slaving for $7.00/hour at McDonald's.
I was lucky, when I started I got $8/hour. Some of my coworkers were being paid $6.50/hour because of the new rules. I think it was anyone with less than 200 hours of work experience could start as low as $6/hr. Gfg.

This might be a dumb question but if glasses make your eyes better does that mean your eyesight is no longer 20-20?
Ive had good eyesight my whole life and i dont struggle to read even distant signs, small print, etc… but yesterday my wife was driving us somewhere and i put her glasses on for fun and noticed right away that everything is a bit sharper.
Far away street signs have sharper edges, there is less fuzziness overall. Her prescription is -0.5 so its pretty mild.
I was really hoping my eyes would be good until im like 60ish like my dads were. I guess my eyes are getting shittier sooner
Yeah if glasses make things clearer, it means they are correcting your vision
I had to start wearing readers for doing work on watches. Helps a LOT. I could probably correct my long range vision too, but there's no real need since I don't drive and it's "good enough"

If any of you are going to get glasses, look into special coatings on glasses. I met this gal who was wearing blue coloured glasses. I semi knew her well enough to ask, why? If you work in front of a screen at work, the blue coating cuts glare and makes working in front of a computer screen less irritating. Also in environments with fluorescent lighting. I'm not sure how effective it is. Wasn't going to try her's on. I'm up for free glasses, so will "look" into it.
In the past, I've worn yellow tinted glasses for being out in the sun. It worked at the track. Cut down on glare at night, too. Especially with cars sporting LED lights. The blue tinted lenses could be a gimmick. Apparently not great for driving and not recommended. I'm good a close range. Just can't see objects far away. Funny thing, I can spot a hottie from miles away and around corners.
BTW, reminded me............anyone remember those ads in comics from 60 years ago? Xray, not Yray, glasses. So hilarious.

If you put on her glasses and you notice an improvement, it could be something like astigmatism (I'm talking out of my ass.)
I generally can see okay but I used to get headaches when working in front of a computer so much. I went to see an optometrist and ended up being diagnosed with astigmatism. My prescription is rather mild and has not changed all that much in, I want to say, 20 years? It helps with eye fatigue and I have the scammy blue lens coating MG1 is talking about, but I do notice that it does help reduce eye strain.
I see my optometrist every two years to get a check up and for cheap insurance where they check of signs of other ailments like glaucoma, diabetes, and mental retardation (I have this for sure) etc.

I thought it was even more hours than that but I started out with the $6/hr training wage. Then I got a job at KFC that had a union and I got something like $11.38/hr since I worked in the back, plus an extra $0.25 or something per shift to cover washing your uniform. It was pretty decent actually.

Anyone want to educate me on wine coolers? Nothing too crazy, something that can fit 25-30 bottles at a time is more than enough.
Online, it seems like the consensus is a single zone is more reliable than a dual zone (set it to 55F) and one with a compressor is better than electrothermal.
Any recommendations would be great.

Depends a lot on what you usually drink/store in there.
Dual zone are meant to store both red and whites that you drink frequently. You want your white chilled while stabilizing the reds. Whites need to be stored in about 10°c while red ideal is around 16°c
Except some high-end ones, dual zone sucks ass because it kind rely on the basic physic of bottom is colder vs. top but can never achieve an ideal temp if it isn't a separate space.
And if you are storing for long time say allowing good reds to age properly, temperature and humidity fluctuation is more important than actual temperature. The idea is that you want to keep it relatively the same. It's far better to leave it at 20°c constant for 5yrs vs. 10°c in winter vs. 20°c in summer even though the average might be around 16.
Tl;dr: if you need cooler to store frequently drink wine, get it for white and put your red in basement or somewhere that temp doesn't fluctuate and call it a day.
My uncle has an impressive wine collection. He just made a room in the basement, put a smart humidifier in there and that's it. He'd chill his whites before serving if needed.
