Hey, compared to school during the year, how much more difficult would you say summer school is?

shawnly1000 06-04-2012 10:06 AM

Registration dates for 2012W are out

Really depends. Try not to take hard courses that are required for your program if possible. Do easy elective GPA boosters instead..

instantneedles 06-04-2012 10:14 AM

yeah i guess i shouldn't take bio 121 then eh? I heard from ppl that there's a good prof for it that teaches only during the summer, but then again, its only a prerequisite for me, and I can always take it during the school term. I just need to pass..

A bunch of my friends are doing a core course for the summer term, and it has like a midterm and a final both worth 50% lol, I'm like fuck no...

Lotta courses have that grading scheme, 50% midterm/50% final

Depends definitely. At my school, I'm taking human anatomy/o-chem for bio .. faired out much better than the winter students so far.. As far as my business courses are going, I'm getting mashed with tons of finals and presentations, plus papers... Talk to people who have taken it already would be my best advice. Some courses are easier, some are harder if you have to learn it so quickly and can't absorb the info as well.

blee123 06-05-2012 03:02 PM

easiest econ prof: Catherine Douglas, i didnt do much and got B+ on all her courses

easiest Sociology prof: Neil Gross and Silvia Bartolic (shes kinda hot too)

Easiest english prof: Lorcan Fox (very fair marker)

TDIkingaguy 06-05-2012 05:35 PM

anyone got any opinions on O-chem teachers? I'm dreading this course... especially from everything I have heard from my school, it seems like the killer

Energy 06-05-2012 07:24 PM

+1 to Catherine Douglas being very easy. Sure A class.

one thing i noticed while driving to UBC everyday is that the light at 16th avenue and southwest Marine drive changes quite fast so if u see cars waiting, you can be sure that the light is gona change (super responsive) meaning u shud let go off the gas and prepare to brake. Kinda anoying i u ask me

blee123 06-06-2012 02:10 PM

midterm at 7 so i gotta :concentrate: instead of checking revscene :fuckthatshit:

TDIkingaguy 06-06-2012 06:23 PM

woot my admission appeal was approved and will be back at ubc in september

I was a transfer student from Langara, was encouraged to appeal from my advisor and all went well!

Energy 06-06-2012 11:21 PM

Wow congrats! What made them change their mind? I always thought admissions appeals were generally hopeless...
