I was thinking ENGL 309 because I am planning to go into the field of medicine/dentistry. Not sure if it would kill my mark though. I'm not strong in writing or literature or any of that kind of stuff.

Oh man work really, really hard to be sure you get in those programs.

Lemche was awesome; never went to a single lecture for both 101 and 102. I remembered he screenshotted some Lyryx questions for a midterm.

I'll reply here.. Hmm any class with Catherine Douglas is easy but most of those are upper level. Can't really think of any super easy classes that haven't been mentioned already.

I'm up to 2nd year JAPN. 102 starts to get hard compared to 100 and 101, but if you stay focused you should do ok

instantneedles 06-24-2012 06:25 PM

Cus I'm goin into the course without having brushed up my japanese skills for years.... last time i took japanese was back in highschool grade 11 japanese

yukikaze203 06-24-2012 07:36 PM

I never took Japanese in hs so i don't know how much you've learnt, but if u can still recall making basic sentence structures and write a simple short essay you should do ok since it just builds up upon that.

instantneedles 06-24-2012 08:01 PM

^how bout 101? would I be able to squeeze by by just knowing hiragana characters.. I barely remember anything tbh, like everything is really really rusty...

I'd say hiragana and a bit of katakana is all i really remember, and some really really basic expressions like konichiwa, konbanwa, itadakimasu, shitsuraee shimasu, boku wa, onamae wa nandesu ka? that kinda stuff

i only know about free parking spots :okay: but for me, easy electives are 300 level courses with douglas catherine and eng 220 and 221 with Lorcan Fox

didnt do much for both courses and still got a descent mark :woot2:

instantneedles 06-24-2012 08:58 PM

Hmm sounds like japn 100 might be better for u. 101 expects u to know X は Y です (most basic sentence structure), how to add an adjective to a noun, some vocabs, and basic particles like は を が. U should try taking the placement exam for Japanese to see where your Japanese level's at as well. I think it's a requirement to do so if u have prior knowledge to Japanese anyways :S

instantneedles 06-24-2012 11:02 PM

^hmm, that doesn't sound too convincing... I won't be able to take 100 though considering its only for those who haven't taken japanese 11 in highschool... ah well..

yukikaze203 06-24-2012 11:37 PM

^i thought that limitation existed only for Japanese 12 students. That being said, I know someone that took Japanese 12 and they got by 101 ok and she's in second year Japanese too. Dunno about your case though. Good luck with whatever decision you end up with :)

fuhkyu 06-25-2012 09:56 AM

I hear germ lit 301 302 are super easy classes (they'll also fulfill lit requirements if anyone needs that)

blee123 06-26-2012 02:14 AM

dygital 06-26-2012 02:28 AM

going into first year commerce next year, what should i take?
and is taking psyc 101 or 102 better?

instantneedles 06-26-2012 09:04 AM

^i've heard psych won't be as easy as u think it would be... and I've had mixed opinions on both courses, so best bet would be to do your background check on the prof and start with the lower one whichever that one might be...

GGnoRE 06-26-2012 09:18 AM

I agree with instantnoodles that psych 101/102 is not as easy as some students predict.
Regardless, I enjoyed it quite a bit and I am a science student.
