Are any of you thinking of going to the TF700 or whatever it's called now when it comes out later in June? I am thinking of either the Transformer Prime or the "new iPad" but I would like to stick with Android due to having a SGS2, heh. |
^ Probably not. The only major difference for me is screen resolution and screen quality. I'm still sticking with my tf101 and it's still awesome. Probably wait until 2013 and see what Asus makes for android 5.0 |
^im actually waiting for the tf700t which is now called asus transformer infinity 2 versions, the hd quadcore version(wifi) and the dual core LTE version(wifi and 4G LTE) im getting the quadcore one, not only does it have a full hd resolution, but it also has the much needed wifi and gps fix, where at the top part is plastic, but the rest of the body is the same. also, it has a 2mp hd front facing camera, not a big deal tho ...if anyone is interested, the transformer prime can use an emulator to play nes and n64 games, and is 100% compatible with a dual shock controller that is usb connected (wireless doesn't work that well) as soon as im getting the transformer im loading it with killer instinct gold, golden eye, zelda, and super smash bros |

also for all you photographers, there is an app in betta mode i think its called dslr controller, it allows you to use the transformer as your viewfinder which all the features on the dslr are controlled on the transformer. As of right now it only works with canon, but soon will be working with nikon amd sony |
ASUS placates Transformer Prime owners with free GPS Extension Kit add-on -- Engadget Potential GPS fix, hardware based. It'll cause some trouble since it's external, but I hope this isn't a hoax. |
What cases do you guys use? And do you guys use a stylus as well? |
I bought the minisuit one from Amazon.com, it was the only decent one I could find at the time. |
Theres a lot on amazon.com.. but US shipping only lol even the same product would cost $15 more on amazon.ca.. |

Does that fit the keyboard dock as well? |
I have the same case as luhua, and its good. Cheap on Amazon, iirc it shipped from hong kong. Was the ics update automatic? I remember an update recently, but cant figure out how to check my os. :heckno: |
Settings --> scroll to the bottom --> about tablet |
Case doesn't fit dock, there is another that does fit with the dock though, but I think fitment is stuck with either dock or no dock, not switchable usually. |
I just use a sleeve. The ones made for kindle dx fit the tablet and dock perfectly. I have an extra Built one if anyone's looking. |
^ Do you have a pic? Might pick up if it's something i like. :fuuuuu: tf201 docks backorderd like hell.. :( |

BTW. I hope you all registered your Prime with Asus. They will be shipping free GPS dongles that connect to the bottom of your Prime. [Updated] ASUS To Provide Transformer Prime Owners With Free GPS Dongle, New Prime Builds To Have Improved WiFi Performance |
Anyone use a stylus with it? I heard the Jot Pro is good, but its kind of pricey :S |

EDIT: If you want to try, go to Futureshop or London Drugs or something - they ought to have a sample out. |
The Atmel digitizer on the prime is supposed to be able to support a special stylus called the Maxstylus. No word on ETA or anything yet though: |
i have a question, i don't think i want to wait for the transformer infinity, i don't really need a 1920x1200 resolution, form what i can tell, the prime is 720p and the infinity is 1080p, but on a 10.1 inch screen its almost no difference the infinity is 200 MHZ faster than the prime, but that isn't much of a difference too, probably to keep a smooth feel since it has to power a higher resolution 2mp front camera vs 1.2 gps i wont be using, i have a phone and a gps in my car wifi, now thats what i was wondering about, from what i read is the a junior manager from asus says that the newer batch of transformer primes have a better wifi antenna. and that it is ALMOST on par with the original transformer my question is, how will i know if i got the newer batch? if i order from memory express, will i get the newer batch? thanks |
I'm afraid really the only way to CONFIRM that the signal is better is to test the wifi, I mean on the original Prime the wifi was pretty weak, sure, but I still get a good enough signal to stream Netflix 3 floors down from my router. I'm using an ASUS RT-N56U btw, if you want to reference the router performance. Also, the Infinity is still going to use the exact same quad core chip at the same clocks for the wifi version, the 3G version gets the Krait dual core at 1.5GHz, and either way it'll suffer a bit compared to the Prime because of the extra pixels. I hope someone else can help you out with the batch codes, and good luck. |
The code you are looking for is the "C3" part of the serial. If it starts with "C3" then you should be good. I picked up a TFP tonight, along with a dock. I'll post impressions in a few days? |
