My top picks that I remember would probably be

1) Code Geass: Hangyaku No Lelouch
Watch Code Geass Hangyaku No Lelouch Episodes Online | AnimeSeason.com
- Story line is beyond amazing & complex. One of the best endings for a series i've ever seen.

2) Btooom
Watch Btooom Episodes Online | AnimeSeason.com
- Sooo much potential!! The series is pretty good but they are really slow on releases..

pretty sure the season ended at 12 episodes for btoom. gotta wait for the next one

Didnt want to make a thread for this, so this one seems appropriate.

It sounds like Neon Genesis Evangelion might be getting a Live Action Hollywood rendition and Michael Bay is the one wanting to bring it..... :heckno:

Michael Bay looking to direct a Neon Genesis Evangelion movie? - Flickering Myth

Quote:

Bay responded to a question about his future projects by stating that, “I don’t know if you are familiar with Evangelion but that’s one movie that I want to direct”, before smiling when asked if development on an NGE movie might be underway.

The animes i'm currently watching are:

black bullet (8 episodes out)
blade break (8 episodes out)
Fairy tail (been watching since episode 1)

I would recommend the two first shows if you don't have too much spare time, but if you got loads of time, i suggest Fairy Tail, by far my #1 anime.

Eatman 05-31-2014 12:03 AM

^
break blade was originally an 6 episode OVA. If you don't feel like waiting for the remaining episodes, you could check that out instead. Minor differences.

Hunter x Hunter for me, loved the old version but this newer one is way better.

J-Chow 06-02-2014 11:42 PM

Gundam Unicorn.

Of the shows that came out in Spring 2014, Kawai Complex and Gaworare are fantastic comedies. Last season goodies are Seitokai Yakuindomo and No-Rin. Although I marathoned Salaryman Kintaro after finding out the over the top fights were awesome.

This clip is 1st season SYD, but if you like snappy-style comedy...

OGCStrike 06-08-2014 02:43 PM

^ LOL i love SYD. one of the animes that actually make me laugh really hard :awwyeah:

This year has had some really good series my favourites are
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

Summary: Magic is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since a time unknown to people. Supernatural power became a technology systematized through magic, while magic became a technical skill. A "Supernatural Power User" became a "Magic Technician." Magic Technicians (in short, Magicians) are nurtured through Magic High Schools and Universities.

No Game No Life
Summary: The story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, a brother and sister whose reputations as brilliant NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) hikikomori (shut-in) gamers have spawned urban legends all over the Internet. These two gamers even consider the real world as just another "crappy game." One day, they are summoned by a boy named "God" to an alternate world. There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where "everything is decided by games"—even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. Will Sora and Shiro, the good-for-nothing brother and sister, become the "Saviors of Humanity" on this alternate world? "Well, let's start playing."

Gokukoku no Brynhildr
Summary: When he was a child, Murakami was infatuated with a girl he called Kuroneko. She insisted on knowing about aliens and having met them, but no one believed her, even young Murakami was skeptical. One day, she decides to show him the aliens, but an accident occurs and Kuroneko dies while Murakami is left seriously wounded in the hospital. Years go by and Murakami obsesses on finding proof of the existence of aliens because of a promise he had made with Kuroneko. Then, one day, a new transfer student comes to his class, who not only looks a lot like Kuroneko, but is named Kurohaneko! And even though she insists on never having met Murakami before, the girl has superhuman strength and seems to even be able to predict the future! How will Murakami's life change now that he has been saved by this mysterious girl that claims to be a magician?

Beaten to death, but AKIRA has a special place in my heart. I watched the movie first, thought it was great, then I read the entire manga and realised how far off the story was..

Both were great, but the manga made much more sense.

Picked it up out of curiosity a year ago, then I get to the parts involving physical comedy...and now it's back with the release of the S2 OVA's.

season 2 is airing. Tokyo Ghoul is pretty good

6o4__boi 03-04-2015 02:30 PM

Noragami is pretty good.
Pretty quick watch too, only one season with 12 episodes. I wish they'd align the series more with the manga instead of deviating a little from it though. Don't think there's a second season coming (at least for the foreseeable future) but the manga is definitely worth the read.

Anime is 8/10
Manga is 9/10

:suspicious:

Neon Genesis Evangelion....
Doraemon
Dragon Ball
Saint Seiya...

Ghost in a Shell
Akira

TOPEC 03-05-2015 04:49 AM

Evangelion is really confusing half the time, had to re watch it a few times to get what's goin on somewhat. If u don wanna watch through all the episodes n wants high quality video just watch evangelion 1.11 the movie, it's somewhat of a recap of the whole series

GLOW 03-05-2015 07:12 AM

evangelion was pretty good but the last few episodes were really confusing. i read the writer/creater had some mental breakdown or something...and it kind of showed in the last few episodes...like the skeeting scene dafuq.

if you watch ghost in the shell, stand alone complex is the shit...but if you choose to watch everything, watch the older movies first...going backwards you'll think the movies aren't great b/c stand alone complex was so freaking awesome.

i'd say ninja scroll was pretty good and i'd rank it up there with akira as a classic.

Pokemon (Kanto)
actualsrs

Death Note
Samurai Champloo
Trigun
...the list goes on. But what do you mean by epic anyways...in what way? Story-wise? Action-wise? Character-wise?

Because anyone that liked Seed has shit taste. 00 was mediocre at best (though some of the battle scenes were alright), and same with Seed. Destiny was absolute trash that only shipper fangirls, and anyone obessed with Kira Yamato/Athrun Zala/Shinn Asuka yaoi doujins enjoyed.

Wing on the other hand was probably the only Gundam to get the most exposure in our generation. I missed my favorite, 08th MS Team on TV by a couple of years.

dlo 03-05-2015 08:47 PM

kuroko no basket if u wanna see a crazy sports anime lol
attack on titan
