after some cutting and trimming, i removed the top bezel from the 0.3mm case. it nice and thin now without added weight and bulky look.
Picked up the 0.3mm and yea super thin but I guess that's the point. I'm scared it doesn't provide enough thickness to protect the camera when lying flat. Also the case scratches easy if you care.
Easier to hold than my previous Rock case but that was bulkier and thick enough to keep the camera lens safe.

don't think it'll scratch that easily Posted via RS Mobile
Fido sim (in my case, a iphone 4 sim) works in the galaxy s3 but you have to manually enter the network settings everytime its restarted (a huge hassle)

You're losing the best features if you're getting the mini. No S voice fine. No S beam / NFC... I guess if you don't like making S3 friends and sending them movies on the fly, you could do without it. But the one thing that I can't do without is losing the 4.8" screen. If it were the iphone's retinal display it might be okay, but with the AMO LED, I already have to zoom in all the time to read text. Making it the screen smaller would lead to more scrolling which would suck!
I might sound like an idiot but can you guys tell if that's an international version or North America? I already e-mailed the seller regarding my question but he hasn't replied yet.

Where did you get this misinformation? The mini will have SBeam/NFC:

Other specs include a 1Ghz dual-core processor, likely a variant of last year’s Exynos 4410 chip. Like the Galaxy S II family, the mini comes with 1GB of RAM as well as 8 or 16GB of internal storage. On the back is a 5MP camera capable of shooting 720p video. Inside is a 1500mAh removable battery, a NFC chip, WiFi b/g/n, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a FM radio.
The device comes with Android 4.1.1 out of the box, as well as Samsung’s new TouchWIZ suite. That includes S Voice, S Beam, Smart Stay, Direct Call and Smart Alerts, all meant to improve the quality of your phone interaction. As we told you in our Galaxy S III review, some of these features work better than others, though we can appreciate Samsung’s desire for consistency through its product line.
Moot anyway, it's not coming to Canada.
