This is reminiscent of Patrick Roy's "Le Trade" ? :derp:

They are showcasing him to the league to garner more trade interest

Except Lu never wants to get pulled no matter what while Roy wanted to get pulled but didn't.

I hope this loss lights a fire under their ass.

There won't be any interest if he lets in 8 goals

...Oh wait

:troll:

RevYouUp 02-24-2013 05:11 PM

there was no chance for luongo to stop most of the goals he let in

Gh0stRider 02-24-2013 05:13 PM

Good game :troll:

Tim Budong 02-24-2013 05:47 PM

Missed the game. Did the team play like they were playing in Boston or something?

To be honest, I'm really not all that mad about the loss or the shellacking as much as I am about the quality of reffing in this particular game.

I've never been one to complain about officiating but today's was soooooo obvious that even the Sportscentre panel was talking quite a bit about it during the 1st intermission alone.

Its called rebound control. He could of stopped at least 4 of the 8 goals. Luu sucks .gillis better get on the phone and work a trade that POS luu

RevYouUp 02-24-2013 07:00 PM

Lol, have you ever played in net? It wasn't only Luongo's fault.. It should be up to the team to clear the rebound, everyone was caught watching the puck on most of the goals. And there was only one goal that was directly from a rebound.

iwantaskyline 02-24-2013 07:06 PM

Garrison really sucks. Our new pylon. That is all.

RevYouUp 02-24-2013 07:07 PM

Yea, he wasn't clearing the crease.

Lol here we go!

Let's be honest here I doubt schneider would have done better with that team effort today.

Give him some slack.

The system in Florida is much different from Vancouver.

Took Ballard like 2 years to adapt to it...might take the same for Garrison

AzNightmare 02-24-2013 08:04 PM

Hmm... Guess it's a good thing this game was too early for me.
I completely missed it.

Canucks let in 8 goals

"Refs are out to get us!" :derp:

Yeah, but you can't afford to wait that long with Garrison's cap hit. $4.6 mill for a guy playing like a number 6 defenceman is a terrible investment, and it eats up too much cap space.

Honestly, I was so stoked on this signing, but he's been an absolute bust so far. Other than him being a let down, our entire D has been pretty bad.

BRB, Top 6 looks great on paper
BRB, goodluck winning a cup with said Top 6

SkinnyPupp 02-24-2013 08:48 PM

I miss Ohlund, one of my favourite Canucks ever :okay:

How long did it take Tanev to adapt? Hamhuis? Please. The Canucks aren't running some out this world system that takes a genius to adapt to. It's really the simple defensive plays that Garrison just sucks at.

Countless times he could have banked it off the boards but I see him pass up the middle or he'll pass it to a winger in the neutral zone who's completely covered.

Don't even get me started on him in front our net. :lawl:

jeedee 02-24-2013 09:10 PM

like i said. It'll take him time for him to adapt to the system

Same thing with Ballard and Booth

Both former Florida players who have taken awhile (and might still be) getting used to AVs system

You would think these guys would be capable of doing a good job but it baffles me how guys from fla that join our team struggle

Not saying he didn't suck today, but so did the entire D. He just sticks out more cuz he's the newest signing.
Isn't Ballard making $4.5m? :suspicious:
His signing wasn't hailed as the next "omgz WEBER" ... just a local boy who took a discount to play in Vancouver. He probably could have got north of $5m from another other team. It takes times for players to adjust, btw how is Suter doing with that massive new contract in Minny?

Have to admit that one (maybe two) of the calls against Kassian were garbage. The goalie interference was a terrible call and his unsportsmanlike was borderline.

He was expected to slot in and play top 4 minutes along side Edler. Ballard makes $4.2 mill and up until now, he's been a turnover machine. AV loved Rome cause he would always go for the safe plays. Ballard tried to do too much.

Our D looks so good on paper, yet they've been playing pretty bad all season. I don't get it?

You didn't watch the game, did you?

No ones saying the refs were out to get us... But some of the calls....
