forwards look pretty good on paper, d is a problem. heatley, koivu, parise, setoguchi, coyle, grandlund, vielluxe bouchard clutterbuck mitchell konopoka kassian suter, gilbert backstrom |
Hard to believe with, the pens and Wings going after these guys that they Sign with the Wild. Man the Wings are going to be hurting for a D man this year lol |
wow both went to mini |
should be a interesting day now. i think semin, carle etc will all sign pretty soon with massive overpayment. might even see nash/ryan move |
Looks like we got Garrison for a real good price with this big contracts that just got dropped |
I love how these signings send every Canuck fan on Twitter into a frenzy about the Canucks not doing anything to stock up. After what happened last year, any team can make it to the final as long as you get into the show. I don't care where the Canucks finish in the West - as long as they make the Top 8, anything can happen. As far as the NW goes, the signings to date haven't changed the division a whole lot. I don't remain convinced that Edmonton is going to be great. Schultz may be good, but he won't be the next coming of Nik Lidstrom or Erik Karlsson. They still don't have a goalie either. Calgary is still old and Colorado will probably battle for the last couple of spots. Minnesota will probably challenge for a playoff spot and that spot would come at the expense of a fading team, such as the Sharks or perhaps Nashville. |
^and the Canucks are invincible !!!! |

time for nash to get moved now |
I forgot where I heard it from but Gillis did say next year's pool of free agents is far better than this years. Maybe that's why we haven't seen much activity from him? Minne needs better D and centres. Maybe Parise can play the middle behind Heatley? |
CRAZY. can't believe that happened. Minny isn't exactly attractive to UFAs, especially with teams like Pittsburgh in the running. |

They have Koivu and probably Granlund as the top 2 centres, Heatley is terrible at the C position, but Parise could slide in there too. |
What top 6 forward would bring the extra grit, leadership needed to win a championship? Your thoughts on Shane Doan as a potential target of the Canucks? |
Doan to Canucks? Yes but can we beat out other teams such as Kings or Hawks? We don't have the cap space. Plus Gillis isn't the type to overpay for one player. Looking at the UFA signings, no wonder Gillis said Ballard and Booth has a good cap hit on their contracts. |
nooooooo damn you minny |
still in a state of disbelief at these two signings.. wtf minny! |
Hmmm, what trades would Gillis work on with Florida? The Canucks backup goalie situation might be an area that MG would look at more closely. If the coaching staff say that Eddie Lack is not ready to be a backup, would Florida provide a veteran goalie in a trade? Jose Theodore, and Mr. Movember, George Parros, for Luongo? A buddy of mine had a dream that the Canucks got Versteeg and Theodore, for Luongo. -told him it was a good dream, but to have a more realistic dream. :fullofwin: |
Seems like Preds GM is pretty choked about Suter leaving. What are the odds Weber stays if Suter is not around. |
WTF this is like a fucking sitcom or something... BOTH sign with MINNESOTA?? :lawl: |
Question, would you guys package Edler for Weber? Say, at trade deadline, Gillis did something like this Edler + 1st + Schroeder + Connauton for Weber and then I woke up |
these huge lengthy contracts are retarded 13year 98 mil? cool. |
guessing weber gets traded to the east now. no way they are going to sign him to a 1year deal especially with him likely leaving now |
