I don't think Garrison will be a replacement for Ehroff. He's a defensive defensement who happened to get 16 goals last season. His first two season he combined for like 7 goals.

If Canucks can get big minutes from him and he can provide a shutdown role and chip in like 7-10 goals I'm happy. Not to take anything away from his offensive abilty, but I think people need to temper their measure of the guy.

Garrison adds defensive ability with edler and chipping in offensively. Another key reason he is signed here because of the sneaky snapshot.

The big minutes is a big factor. Him logging those extra minutes would allow Hamhuis and Bieksa to play less. They would not bad as prone to getting injured. Plus Bieksa would not have this usually brain cramps in turning over the puck.

Plus, Garrison can light a fire under Edler's ass. We have a guy now who's just as big and physical and can score.

It'll make the entire D unit stronger IMO.
