^did you leave automatic switch to parking mode on? and did you press the led switch to parking mode before you leave your vehicle?
Try format your sd card and reinitializing sd card.

inv4zn 09-23-2012 04:00 PM

The settings are on automatic switch, yes.

I didn't press the button - it's supposed to change automatically after 10 minutes, right?

I'll try reformatting tonight.

ToddPacker 09-23-2012 04:37 PM

Parking mode left on (automatic)
Powermagic pro green LED on

several hours after, returning to the car, the green led on powermagic pro is OFF.

power magic green led OFF means it's not providing any more electricity/power right?

That means your battery is lower than configured voltage setting 12v or 11.8v

dumb question...

since Will configured my dr380 to automatic parking mode
can i just leave without hitting the parking mode switch, but make sure to have the powerbox at the on switch
becuz i've been hitting the parking mode when i park and turning on the box and its CONSTANTLY recording...I assume this is becuz of motion...

from what I remember, it only starts recording if there is impact or if there is motion
I didnt check what color the recording light was at when I jumped back in the car

sry haha

If everything is working perfectly, then there's no need for you to hit the switch. The camera will record for 10 minutes on normal, and then switch to parking mode. If you hit the button it'll change immediately.

If for example you park outside and there are trees rustling, then it will record all day all night...so turn down the sensitivity.

Usually the LED is off when the camera is in parking mode, so it doesn't attract attention.

asr 09-24-2012 08:45 AM

Dartchchilli
If your camera run in parking mode, make sure power magic pro switch turn on to 1 before ignition off.
If you don't hit the camera LED switch, it stays for 10 minutes after you turn off your vehicle, and the camera will automatically switch to parking mode. Parking mode LED is off when I set it.

Power magic pro green light is on, and camera led is off if you get back to your car in the morning.
If you leave power magic pro on 1 and the power magic green light is off in the morning, that means your battery is under configured voltage setting 12v or 11.8v

Is the ring around the Lense chrome for any specific reason? If we painted it matte black or the whole unit matte black for that matter, would it affect anything?

I just want to hide it a bit better cause I park outside on a pretty busy street near bars and stuff...

i-vtecyo 09-24-2012 12:59 PM

correct me if im wrong, but cant you turn off parking mode led rings?

I will give it another look. I know you configured everything properly. It should be fine, I dont really need to run the cam in my building garage anyways. its only when i'm at work or what not.

im not the brightest lolol.
The battery wont die with the power magic on 1 before ignition and on camera mode while its recording for roughly 8hours
as long as this is true, then Im in the clear

yeah, just put the power magic pro switch on 0 if you don't need parking mode running. So no power go through to your camera.

I think you need a splitter if you want to run two cameras.

So this just came up in my mind while I was driving.

We all know about " illegal illumination" while driving at night ( underglow neons, turning on your dome lights , "blue" headlights ).

How about the blue LED that glows on the dash cam, won't this cause a problem especially since it's blue, which is a "police " color?

inv4zn 09-27-2012 12:49 PM

There is such a massive difference between police lights and a small blue LED that I would like to think the world still has at least that much common sense left.

You can always turn it off lol (except the dr400 v2 :()

:seriously: Seriously?

This is even an question???
You're comparing a 1watt + police strobe light with one that glows from the dash cam?

Heck, there's LED / backlight from your radio / entertainment system too. Or a "police colour" RED led that glows from radar detectors too. I suppose those are now illegal too 'eh?
