I got my tickets at Burnaby Kawasaki. Also $10.

I'll be there on the Saturday.

I am all for projects and 'custom' work but this is funny

Didn't wait for bike show, bought this today. Total time from negotiation to going to the bank to signing the papers less then 1 hour. It's getting dropped off next week.

which shop you picked it up from?

quasi 01-04-2014 03:47 PM

Holeshot, real close to me so I'll service it there as well.

Sunfighter 01-05-2014 09:36 AM

I'm excited for the bike show... haven't been before and will probably go on the Friday night.

Spoiler!

So I have my eye on an 08 SV650 for a very good price.

The catch. It has 125k on it. The dude rides 25k/30k a year.

His words;

Spoiler!

I'm very interested in the bike but I have one lurking concern.... engine life.

I believe him when he says it's been cared for.

Realistically what can I expect from an SV650 in terms of lifespan for a very well maintained bike.

Thanks in advance.

what's the asking price for the Sv?
Posted via RS Mobile

radioman 01-09-2014 09:40 PM

He's willing to let it go to me for $2k. He hasn't put it on market yet.

?NR 01-09-2014 10:24 PM

2k for an 08, reasonable price.

at 125k it is quite high for an 08. professional inspection highly recommended.

is the seller providing service history of what has been done ie valve clearances etc?

sv's are quite the workhorse. As long as the maintenance list is kept up to date, should be alright for that price. I'd check the compression, visible leaks, state of the hoses, then the wear and tear items such as brakes, tires, chain and sprockets etc.

I guess what i am trying to say is, at that mileage there should be quite a bit of maintenance required for trouble-free riding, if it hasn't been done so already.

The boys over at Modern seem to know this bike well.

Qasual 01-10-2014 01:34 AM

If Modern says yes, do it. Aaron and Nate have always been super good to me. Respect.

Vale46Rossi 01-13-2014 07:38 PM

Eddy doesn't want to let go :(

For a new rider, where would be a good place to get some riding experience done? school 1 on 1 practice etc. ?

Qasual 01-13-2014 11:45 PM

Straight up motorcycle school, Pacific riding school, Pro ride. Ect. It would be almost stupid not to take any achool designed to save your life on a bike. If you plan to take it early next season, my girlfriend is learn ing so we can all make friends. :3

radioman 01-14-2014 10:21 AM

Is modern closed? No one picking up the phone?

Raid3n 01-14-2014 01:15 PM

might have been busy

Like Quoc said, School, school, school. And a word of advice, don't buy a bike until after you attend said school. Pacific Riding school is at the top of most people's lists, worth every penny.

I have ridden with a lot of clowns , sorry riders on RS, and most went to PRS.

Always felt safe around them when riding.

I have also been on a few PRS group rides, they do teach you how to do it right.
