no idea man, they said they'll let us know

asr 09-04-2012 12:02 PM

Ticket voided.

davidw1234 09-04-2012 02:23 PM

Thanks ASR for the PM. and z3german for the contact info.

I wasn't ava. to go today but Mike Clarke from CBC emailed me back.

By the way, something weird about my collections notice from Wiggins.

I typed in all my license plates that I've used in the past or present in the DP payment system, none of them have a ticket citation.

I also typed in the file number on the collections notice in the Citation box to see where the ticket was issued, the numbers don't exist.

So is Wiggins making shit up now for money or what? Fuckers.

There's also a guy across the street where Nando's is. They're watching for people walking over to the passport office. The man working over there is reasonable though; if you bought something from the plaza, they won't ticket you.

I put my ticket citation number and license number of my x vehicle. I don't have the ticket . The ticket place was in Vancouver, and now it is Richmond. DPS changed ticket location when we moved to another city. But I don't have the original ticket,so they can say whatever they want to say.

andrewness 09-09-2012 10:05 PM

My friend used to work for DPS 5 years ago and he was reasonable at his lot. He told me that they do make some commission off each ticket (~$0.50-1.00).

elwell 09-10-2012 07:30 PM

yeah when is this going to air? i went to rev's bowling and was going inside to grab change to pay for the damn thing. The lineup at the counter was fucking long and by the time i got my change, i got a ticket.... like wtf dp u sack of donkey shit

Writing these tickets are probably encouraged. Even when someone doesn't pay their tickets, it can still be sold off as bad debts to collection agencies. It's really a win-win situation for them regardless if you pay or not.

Spartacus 09-11-2012 05:10 PM

It's not on.

Drivers protest 'ridiculous' parking tickets - British Columbia - CBC News

Here's the article.

TouringTeg 09-17-2012 07:38 AM

Some of the comments are pretty crazy.

Some people have received notices that they have a ticket overdue a few months after being at or near the parking lot . Even if they never received a ticket. All they have to do is write down the plate #, get the address from ICBC and mail out a notice. Even if a small percentage of people pay they are still making money. What a scam.

7seven 09-17-2012 08:25 AM

I had a similar experience, parked in the Staples lot on Lougheed, went inside Staples to make a purchase, came out and got a ticket claiming I walked off lot. Contacted Diamond Parking, sent them my receipt and ticket was voided. I think the problem is that the ticket issuers are paid some sort of commission per ticket they issue, so these idiots just make up violations.

extracrunchie 09-17-2012 08:36 AM

shit is starting to hit the fan!!!

lulz

"People don't ignore enough. I mean I receive these types of [questionable] tickets and I ignore them. Basically I don't pay them. I ignore them. I don't think my credit rating has suffered," Rankin said.

Tim Budong 09-17-2012 12:12 PM

Hopefully, this educates the people in Vancouver
If CTV or Global picks this up as well, you can bet your ass DPS better tighten up their bullshit

I've never had ANY ISSUE with Impark.
