I have both Reolink (for hardwired cameras that covers 360° of the house) and Eufy (for doorbells, and areas where I want notification quickly).

Reolink solution is nothing to write home about. It's a decent rig for the price but its app is not the greatest. Image quality is ok IMO.

Eufy has a very decent app and notification (usually within a sec or 2) and its sub is quite decent as it's a yearly plan of up to 10 cams. I personally find it worthwhile.

The first sentence couldn't be further from the truth.

I only have limited experience working with Reolink, but from what I saw, their '4K' cameras had worse image quality than a lot of 1MP cameras available in the market. This was a couple years ago so hopefully things have improved for the better.

I was referring to a good option with decent app without a subscription of some sort.

If you have any decent option that doesn’t need any sub and still provide a good quality video backup and everything, I’d like to know as well.

I’ve done some serious homework, but I haven’t gotten anything other than some commercial solution that requires expensive equipment and some serious back end (servers and what not) to come up with something decent.

As far as consumer grade stuff, there aren’t many choices. Hardware can be sourced. It’s just the software part that I couldn’t find any decent solution or certainly not without a subscription of some kind.

i dont get this. listed for 1.5, lot is small as shit, has a T intersection, backs onto a big road, and it got over asking!? 1.63 which is exactly where the BC assessment is at.

Sold in 7 days too. The inside must be a complete crap shoot considering theres no pictures.

Who says the market is dead!?

when th are going for 900k+, anything detached that has any amount of land, a two car garage and driveway, doesnt look like a fixer upper, etc... is gonna easily fetch quite a bit higher than that.

JDMDreams 08-08-2023 01:36 PM

Well van duplex are easily between$1.4 to$1.7 why would you not pay that much for detached, you got real land to sum Lord

Do you have any examples in Richmond at the 1.5-1.65 range that you would recommend?

Badhobz 08-08-2023 04:22 PM

I haven’t looked. This one just popped on zealty because I’m trying to get a baseline of how fast the market is moving. We are gonna sell our place soon and it’s within those specs. 1300sqft house, 6k land and similar vintage. Price should be around 1.6-1.7 ish too

Interested to see who they are marketing this towards or who potential buyers are.
Ill post an update once completion of sale takes place on friday for our old house. Market is indeed stupid

Steps to Main Street, they are banking on that young westside hipster family bayby!

Seriously though, this is my hood and I see so many young white families in their late 30's and early 40's in these new houses. New house, two kids, Tesla or an Ioniq 5.

JDMDreams 08-08-2023 08:13 PM

^^ can't blame the Chinese jacking up prices anymore :troll::joy:

PeanutButter 08-09-2023 08:40 AM

I have Reolink and the camera's are supposed to be 5MP and I can't read license plates on my street, so pretty much useless, but it's nice to be able to see what's going on around my house.

For the price though, it's pretty good and it's POE.

Hondaracer 08-09-2023 08:55 AM

I’ve never seen a camera system that is good enough to prove anything really

Consumer grade stuff is really just there for insurance claims. You’ll never be able to prove anything or show anyone a face or a car and determine an identity. Your best protection is probably a high quality door bell camera and just hope it captures a face

Cameras mounted on the side of your home etc. just cannot take in enough of an image to be of any use imo

This is all it’s good for, lol :

Should fetch around there since that's around market value. There's been a few houses around Fraser that have sold recently for $3m that are of similar size & lot.

Owning detached in Vancouver without generational wealth/downpayment is all but done at this point.

Badhobz 08-09-2023 08:56 AM

just get the one that the dude in Chilliwack uses... YA GOOF

68style 08-09-2023 09:11 AM

I'm thinking about starting the convo to ask momma for help lol. Sell her house and divide into 2 detached house downpayments for me and my bro + both sell condos to upgrade. Then she can have a room in each house. We'll both carry the $1M+ Difference @ $6-8k/month with hopefully slumlord basement rental income

Hondaracer 08-09-2023 09:15 AM

Yea he was an old boy that used to come around probably just wanted to post up somewhere comfortable for his last days lol

I had a Lorex PoE cam and it was so high def the cops kept coming to my house to ask me for footage of different neighbours getting broken into. They never hit my house though. East Van amirite.
