Such a weird property for that area.

My family live in Gibsons/Langdale/Roberts Creek so I've been going out there since I was a kid, that house does not "fit" in with any of the type of houses you'd normally see on the coast.

Curious who the original owner/builder was.

Based on the Google results of the address, it sounds like it. The Engrish site hits all talk about "taking offers" on what you can do with the property.

The Facebook hit has pictures of who I assume to be Yang or Jin with Trudeau and Christy Clark.

Here is an undated listing at $17m, with pictures of it not in disrepair.

from $17M to $2M...ouch

The Chinese owner who currently owns it probably doesn’t even know he does

We had italian neighbours, they never used any slurs on us at least. :awwyeah: we loved them, miss them dearly

I think that's exactly what it is. They picked up the language from other locals who used it openly back then, without realizing the harm it inflicts. For sure their adult children were always apologetic about it and tried to tell their dad that using racial slurs is not acceptable, and you could tell they were embarrassed by it. Regardless, they were some of the best neighbours we ever had. I can't say the same about our Chinese neighbours.

This probably explains why I used to call my dad a faggot, way back in the day.

Seems like a great spot for the Revscene clubhouse. Gut the bottom floor. All garage space. Somehow build a racetrack on the 61 acres.

Badhobz 12-24-2024 07:16 AM

3 mil!? i can trade my lousy mcmansion in for a real mcmansion!?!??

woowowowoow too bad it'll take another 2-3 mill to get it up to spec.

JDMDreams 12-24-2024 09:26 AM

Badhobz 12-24-2024 09:29 AM

JDMDreams 12-24-2024 09:46 AM

You don't have to mow if you cut down all the trees and built a track

If you could fix that for 2 to 3 mill it would be a steal. It originally was on sale for 10 mill and that was more than 10 years ago.

Asking prices don't mean anything. It last sold for $6.6M 10 years ago.

Hondaracer 12-24-2024 11:18 AM

Something like that that’s been sitting forever you don’t even know where to start in it’s rehabilitation

The last thing you want to do is start finishing up rooms and then a water pipe bursts etc. almost needs a gut if it’s been sitting with zero maintenance for 10 years

But if it sold for 6.6 mill 10 years ago it has to be worth more now fixed up. I think you would have to take this down to the studs.

Badhobz 12-24-2024 12:18 PM

its haunted by gewilos and potentially hom fan lo's! thats another 2 mill to call in chinese ghostbusters.

Manic! 12-24-2024 04:32 PM

I'm hearing that the house has an exempted offer and will go for over 4 mill.

So many foreclosures listings. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many locally.

Here's another one in Surrey...

How do they have list price if it's foreclosure? I thought it's at the courts with the highest bid and cash only

HonestTea 12-26-2024 11:23 AM

Is there a place to find foreclosure sales?
