Slow lane: why Google's new Nexus 4 doesn't have LTE | The Verge

ShadowBun 10-29-2012 01:32 PM

lol ppl and their LTE

sonick 10-29-2012 01:35 PM

I'm guessing it's only coz the iPhone has LTE, so everybody's like 'LULZ OMG THIS NEW PHONE DUZN'T HAVE LTE'

As mentioned, it seems like a large percentage of ppl don't use LTE on their S3 and iPhone 5's anyway.

ShadowBun 10-29-2012 01:46 PM

and how life sucking it can be

well there's always something to say lol
I'm gonna wait to see the other 'nexus' first, but I have a feeling this will be the more budget Nexus compared to the other few

Other Nexus? This is it. The rumors of other Nexus phones were just that--rumors.

It's a very good price point. and that's the part. Ltd isn't a big issue I only use let when tethering anyways

I know only a small % of smartphone owners care but streaming videos on 3g/hspa+ isn't always adequate

If you also take the rapid transit you don't get connection when the trains are in motion...LTE eliminates that

only down side to LTE is its battery drain...but I'm curious how well the battery fares with the new S4 Pro

Does the phone actually include the inductive charging stand?

Google refreshes Nexus line of Android devices

EmperorIS 10-29-2012 03:49 PM

The Nexus not having LTE doesn't really entice consumers to upgrade.... besides incremental upgrades on the speed and camera there isn't much a desire for an upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus... or from an Iphone 4s

More like "omg apple finally catches up to android phones an gets LTE and they think its revolutionary!"

But then nexus 4 doesn't have LTE and ppl are like "meh who needs LTE anyway!"

It isn't even out, but it's already a matter of fact that this phone is a hit and miss isn't it? As it stands, I'm content with 3g speeds and it's pretty much always enough for me, but the lack of LTE means this phone won't last you more than a year. This has a complete Nexus S complex, great phone/1 year too late....

You can live without LTE currently, but you'll want it next year(based on the way phone OS are developing)...

Peturbo 10-29-2012 05:10 PM

Maybe they will release another LTE version later on like they did with the Galaxy Nexus.
Because of price, I may consider getting this phone. No rush for me though, my Galaxy Nexus is still serving me very well.
