which do you guys think is the better pick

the Nexus 4 or the Sony Xperia V or T

c3m 11-10-2012 05:37 PM

^ Nexus 4 for its price and direct support from Google

Sony seems to update their flagship model at an alarming rate or maybe they just want to flush out all the SonyEricsson design and start fresh with only Sony design for 2013
The next flagship has already been spotted with a 5" 1080p screen
Also, Sony isn't known for updating software in a timely manner. Even the Xperia T is shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich and not 4.1 or 4.2

I'd go for Nexus 4 because I like my software updates.

But damn, a smaller 4.3 screen with 342 ppi is sexy

Sony's past Android phones havent been at all good...

If people are deciding Nexus4 or Note2... - Quick rundown of specs

StylinRed 11-11-2012 02:33 AM

well the only reason im looking is because Sonys traditionally have the better camera and the screen on these two especially the V seems great

looking to get it as a gift mind you, not for myself, as for updates it wouldnt be a concern the person is very anti-updating :fulloffuck: thinks it messes up their phones due to 1 bad experience years ago

however thanks :)

i need it before the 19th so im unsure if the nexus 4 would even get here in time :/

FerrariEnzo 11-11-2012 06:58 AM

Note2.. would make the second best gift.. haha

The problem with a group buy is that it only works when the buyer trusts all the other people who will be paying him/her.

The last thing someone would want is to be stuck with a product and no buyer and would have to take a hit for being the nice guy.

tdeweyn 11-11-2012 06:05 PM

Crs are you buying?

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. There might be a 2-3 device per order limit. Especially on launch day.

SuperAman 11-12-2012 12:51 AM

Is this shipped from the U.S? If so because they use UPS shipping, do we have to pay the brokerage charge as well? does anyone know. That would suck majorly if so

noTirl 11-12-2012 08:40 AM

looks like it might not be available at midnight

Nexus 4/10 Play Store availability tipped for Tuesday afternoon/evening European time | Android Central

It's updated

Update: Keuchel has updated his post, indicating that Google has "stepped on the gas" and as such, the plan is to start taking orders through the Google Play devices store tomorrow morning, "around breakfast time" in Germany. (That's early morning Pacific time.) We've updated the article below to include this new information. An earlier post by the Google Germany employee suggested a late afternoon Euro launch.
9AM Germany time = about midnight PST

Well I'm not sure if it will be shipped from the US cuz I've never ordered from Google before.

I have ordered from Apple and they shipped my iPad to me from China, no extra fees when delivered to my door.

Also, Google kinda sucks that they add a shipping fee when Apple doesn't.

At the moment, no local stores will carry it right? Like Future Shop/NCIX/Memory Express

noTirl 11-12-2012 12:18 PM

oh nice cant wait

FerrariEnzo 11-12-2012 02:28 PM

why dont people who wants to do group buy pay half as deposit.. that way if they cancel at least the buyer doesnt have to be at a total loss and then resell it cheap to make up the difference or sell it at full price to make money...

BTW.. anyone know what time the sale starts?

its in the article above, breakfast time in Germany, so approx midnight for us.

FerrariEnzo 11-12-2012 02:59 PM

pwned for not reading...

NICE.. midnight i will mashing that refresh key... lmao

mrks 11-12-2012 03:21 PM

I bought my N7 from the Play store. The shipment was even held up by customs, but no brokerage was charged. I think it's because the Play store order is made via the Canadian entity of Google and they take care of the duties and collect the sales tax on behalf of the CRA.

I would buy my next device again from the Play store, even though you have to pay shipping. I rather go to Google for warranty issues versus Asus, Samsung or LG.

c3m 11-12-2012 04:07 PM

8Gb or 16GB for you guys?
