Two things: the news people want to hear a couple of things in these interviews, "they hated america" and they only hear what they want to hear. They keep asking the same questions, hoping to hear something different. And by the time she makes it to the 11 o'clock news, its been distilled to a 5 second sound bite. Just remember, all they want to hear at this point is "they were evil, and they hated america" |

Oh, thats right...to dehumanize them in a way that sparks feelings of patriotism and vengeance. The more I hear, I don't get "history's newest monster" I get, misguided, naive boys. Ones that were misled some how. That doesn't change anger, or hate or appease their actions...but it tells me that its sad that they allowed themselves to wrap into a radical world they didn't fully understand. I guess my opinion wouldn't be popular on CNN. |

The only difference is, on US media, there is now a large interest in portraying them as blood thirsty 'muricahaters'. And I just don't get that. I seem to hear stories about normal kids, that one day seemed to fucking snap. But Americans don't want to hear that, because they fear that-but can't find it. Some kid downloading pressure cooker bomb plans off the internet and just feeling inspired to go and kill with it is something that you can't monitor, you can't patriot act your way out of, and you can hire as much security as you want...guess what? These guys walked right past them. So, Americans want to hear that they hated america, and they posted shit online about hating america because it means you can find the next ones. We'll check backpacks more at sporting events, and people will 'feel safe'. The line to get in is 6 hours long...but we'll be safe. Scope through everyone's internet and find that google search for "cooker". A little less privacy for a little more safety. Don't let them demonize these kids as evil from birth. It's too easy. Once again...I am NOT placating their horrendous actions in ANY way. You need to start asking what made these kids snap...and heal that problem. It's the hard way. But handing around a picture saying "justice is done" is the wrong way to go. Justice is handed out in a court room, not from a revolver. |
Crazy that the usteam feed of the local scanner has 82K people viewing/tuning in. |

These guys planned this from researching how to make the bombs to where they were going to leave them. I don't think they "snapped" - they had a clear objective and took the necessary steps to carry it out. Unless you think the only way someone could commit any serious crime is because they "snapped". |
Dunkin' Donuts In Certain Boston Areas Stay Open To Serve Police During City Lockdown :lawl: also, now they are saying that the brothers weren't involved in the 7-11 robbery |
Would make sense as the 7-11 robbery would seem totally random in terms of motive/actions |
We may never find out if they were the right suspects if they snipe the last brother out. |

He' stalking about the fact that we vilify them and look for excuses rather than reasons. "Oh, well, they're from Russia. Obviously they hated America." "They were Muslims, and we all know how much they hate Christians." "Oh, India? They must hate how awesome and wealthy America is." Everyone looks for that wave of the hand that magically explains things away. That's one of the reasons that gun control, despite being hugely controversial, hasn't taken hold in the government. Americans don't want to believe that they themselves can be the enemy, they always look outside for one. And the fact that they never look for the REASONS these things happen...is part of the reason these things happen. |
Who says there is a reason? Posted via RS Mobile |

I thought this would have been over by now It's very odd that they're saying they weren't involved in the 7-11 robbery starts making me :suspicious: and that report about a media blackout regarding those Craft/spec op guys has me reaching for my tinfoil hat Quote:

From @CBSNews: FBI says it interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev 2 yrs ago at the request of foreign country; didn't uncover deragotory information. Redditors send free pizza to Boston Police and hospitals... |
So pretty much they've lost track of him. Police telling public they can go on with their lives... but just be careful :lawl: how reassuring. |
