Forza is tempting, but the low amount of tracks and cars isn't making me wanting to rush out and get it.

I'm probably gonna just play GT6 until they release the final edition of Forza 5 with all DLC first before picking up a xbox one.

Cman333 11-21-2013 09:14 PM

Drove by Best Buy and Futureshop in Richmond. There's like 6-8 people waiting in line for Xbox One. Almost tempted to try my luck at like 1145. lol

theevilslave 11-21-2013 10:00 PM

My brother got cut from his night shift at Future Shop cause apparently there were only 5 people in lineup. LOL

ForbiddenX 11-21-2013 10:21 PM

Going to drive by the south van one and see if I can just pick one up.

LP700-4 11-21-2013 10:42 PM

I really was looking forward to getting one and playing Forza 5 but im not sure i want to anymore. The way Turn 10 puts in half the cars on disc for launch and half on DLC for the next 6 months pisses me off. Especially when there is one or two new cars and the rest are old cars from previous titles.

Spent way more on DLC than i should have on Forza 4 and Horizon already.

StylinRed 11-21-2013 10:45 PM

I am surprised that there aren't a lot of people lining up I wonder if it's the same down in the states? i thought maybe the whole launch fiasco wouldn't have a substantial impact

Cman333 11-21-2013 10:50 PM

There's still 4 at futureshop lansdowne. I decided to try my luck and came down at 1145.

StylinRed 11-22-2013 01:03 AM

not surprised at the relatively lack of hype/interest
it's like Sony and Microsoft did a complete 360 (no pun intended) since the launch of last gen...higher price tag because it's primary use is a media hub and not a true gaming console.
it needs to be competitive with a $100 price drop immediatley

kingdrew 11-22-2013 08:36 AM

^ only reason I bought it was cuz it was around $400 at shop.ca/paypal after all the discounts and cashback.

hmm what higher price tag?? the ps3 started at 699.99 and dropped to 399.99.. it wasn't till a few years later when it dropped down to 299.99 and whatever it currently is now. as for the xbox it started off at 499.99? or something like that and came down to 299.99 for the xbox/kinect bundle.. and that's like many years later.. so it has nothing to do with the higher price tag coz it's the same as it was when it launched.. the lack of lineup i'm going to say have more to do with more people have preordered or ordered online vs back then when ordering online wasn't that big yet. when they release the number on sales for the console.. you'll probably see more console sold then when the ps3 and xbox 360 launched.. i mean why bother lining up and wait in the cold when i can sit at home nice and warm and wait for it to deliver a few hours later and guaranteed one?

if thats the case, i wonder why the ps4 lineups were so long just last week.

it wasn't really that long.. it's only at certain locations.. majority of the line almost everywhere is really short and most places you coulda walked in at 10am and still grabbed one

SkinnyPupp 11-22-2013 01:38 PM

I watched launch event coverage on various sites, and it was about the same for both (Edit: MS announced they sold 1 million consoles the first day, same as PS4, although I think XBOX launch was worldwide?)

Not that it matters one bit to us which one sold more, or which one has more hype. Get the one you want. If you can't decide, get neither and wait and see which one gets the better games and has the least problems.

iFixit disassembles the Xbox One and finds NAND, high repairability | Ars Technica

Interesting thing is it comes with an 8GB SSD cache, so there's no need to swap the HDD out for a hybrid drive like some are doing on the PS4

ScizzMoney 11-22-2013 05:13 PM

I have two Day One consoles ordered. One from EBgames and one from Futureshop (One is for my roommate). Neither of them are going to get here until Monday or Tuesday, haha. Wish they came out with this on Thursday to allow the one day late for shipping grace period.

hal0g0dv2 11-23-2013 07:34 AM

I wonder who sold more
Xbox or PS4

tomatogunk 11-23-2013 07:41 AM

they both sold one million units within the first 24 hours but Microsoft launched in 11 more countries

GC8 11-23-2013 07:49 AM

which I would assume Sony sold more..

StylinRed 11-23-2013 08:19 AM

microsoft shipped a million units not sure what they sold to users an article was stating that best buy had a huge order to tide themselves through the holidays would have to wait for the npd numbers i guess

but yeah 1 million with sony launching in canada/us and msft launching canada/us/europe

pojai 11-23-2013 10:20 AM
