Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun Rival NHL GM on Schneider deal: "People might be hard on Vancouver for this but Horvat is going to be 1 heck of a player. Solid 2-way guy." |
Horvat is like another Gaunce.... like another Kesler (at best), in fact all three had/have a similar scouting report We needed a winger... and Dallas has our winger |
The question becomes, if the Oilers were offering their 7th overall and a 2nd , would that be a better deal? Schneider would be playing in the division on a team transitioning to success. I'm critical of Gillis for waiting so long to deal a goalie. Not considering that, and only based on the options available, I think he did okay (not good or great, okay). Losing Luongo via waivers or buyout would have been even more painful. |
inb4 canucks draft this guy or this guy next Hockey's Future - Kerby Rychel Hockey's Future - Ryan Hartman |
I read a tweet a second ago from LeBrun or someone that said another GM walked by, looked at the Schneider trade and just said "Wow." |
Islanders pick Ryan Pulock, as much as I hate to say this as a NYR fan the isles are going to be good |

I think Horvat has a higher ceiling than Gaunce. Could be a top line centre, whereas Gaunce projects to be a 2nd/3rd line centre. I recall Gillis saying a couple days ago that they like to take centreman as they are easier to convert to wing, as opposed to wingers converting to centre. And with all our struggles at centre this year, it makes sense. |

Pretty sure if its 7th and 2nd then the roster player is MPS or something of that calibre (had it gone thru) --- Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 2m Sharks and Wings trade for picks. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 25m Gillis said he did not speak with Luongo before agreeing to Schneider trade. |
Schneids could easily elevate the Oilers up a few spots in the standings, glad he didn't end up in Edmonton |
lol bettman |
The way Bettman deals with the fans is pretty hilarious. Good deal for Detroit getting another pick. 18 for 20 and 58. Quote:
