Just woke up to se the trade, and it's pretty much what I expected. Should be an interesting season, lets hope Lu doesn't have one of his famous slow starts!

And thanks for not disappointing me, RS. This is exactly the gong show that I expected :fuckthatshit:

When did we draft Jordan subban at? Just found out and I'm so happy!!!

kristianhay 06-30-2013 06:02 PM

Drafted him with our 4th rounder.

Pretty awesome move by the Devils, traded for the 208th pick and got Marty Brodeur to announce that they were drafting Anthony Brodeur.

DanHibiki 06-30-2013 06:06 PM

Nice moment for the brodeurs.

Marty = Devils goalie of the present

Bejeezus everyone in here is so bi-polar ... the very same people posting ":fuuuuu:" about dealing Schneider away will be in here once again acting like ":fuckyea:" if Schneider collapses under the weight of a full season and Bo Hovart turns into a stud. I guess everyone's got a crystal ball but me :okay:

Although I do feel that we could have possible got more in return for CS, we also know that all the GMs in the league are aware of the logjam we have and will take advantage of it. We don't know what's going on behind the doors. Everything has been media rumours.

- Luongo might have veto'd the TML trade last year, who knows.
- Also about the EDM deal, I heard it was the Canucks ASKING for that price of #7 pick, 2nd rounder and prospect. Did anyone actually confirm this that it was the EDM that was offering this and the Canucks rejected or the other way around? It's all just "reports" ... nothing from the source.

Maybe the #9 pick was in fact the best we could get? We made the best of a crappy situation. At least now we freed up some cap too, who knows what's gonna happen in Free Agency.

Too many people jumping the gun ... yes I'm guilty of that too ... my initial reaction was "Who the fuark?!... Bo what?!" ... but after the red haze lifted you can see the light at the end of the tunnel lol ...

Obsideon 06-30-2013 06:28 PM

Oh and really stoked about the Shinkaruk pick ... especially if it bites Calgary in the ass lol ...

kristianhay 06-30-2013 06:43 PM

Little bit more on Hunter, seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Some beautiful goals in there too. Been a while since we had a prospect that was just a pure goal scorer, so I'm pumped.

Obsideon 06-30-2013 06:47 PM

Is it weird that I'm more excited about our 24th pick than our 9th overall pick? :suspicious:

Not at all, the 9th pick is a hard one since who we have up for it.

im not going to blame gillis for the luongo contract. the more i hear about aqulini's hand in the team the more it seems that he was the one that insisted a long term contract for loungo and the one that more than likely created the pressure to start throwing schnieders name around at the draft. aquilini showing up at lu's fla home before the trade today, only helps support his role in this whole thing. he needs to stay out of the gms way, otherwise we'll have a philadelphia situation on our hands

Obsideon 06-30-2013 07:10 PM

sooo ... with the drafting of Seth Jones ... does that mean ... that Weber is available? :troll:

Plus it was the coaches decision to make Schneider the #1 goalie, not the GM or owner. If you go back to game 3 or 4 against LA, that was when the decision was made. That night, Luongo was gone. It was MG's mess to handle after that.

How MG handled it was... well we know now...

SkinnyPupp 06-30-2013 07:27 PM

BTW Cory's playoff OT record is like 0-9 or 0-10, going back to AHL :fuckthatshit:

Blah_Teggie 06-30-2013 07:33 PM

Useless but interesting fact. With the exception of the Sedins and Smyl, a lot of the best Vancouver Canucks at one time or another has played for a New York area team and I'm including the Devils in that area. Bure (NYR), Linden (NYI), Luongo (NYI), McLean (NYR), Mogilny (NJD), Bertuzzi (NYI), Morrison (NJD), Schneider (NJD), Adams (NJD), Lidster (NYR) don't wanna list Messier but (NYR), now the coaches AV (NYR), Torts (NYR). There's probably more but that's all I can think of now.

EDIT: Naslund (NYR), can't believe I forgot him

Not to mention playoff finals against NYI and NYR :ahwow:

And Boston is in the next state over! :ahwow: :ahwow:

it has to do with the fact that teams dont like to trade within their own conference, unless theres overpayment, add to that they are 20% of the east. theres are tons more. naslund, aucion, bernier, potvin, pyatt, odjick, nedved, carter, isbister, malik etc etc

So who are our options for Free Agency?

Mike Oxbig 06-30-2013 08:07 PM

Pretty sure Ballard will be traded or bought out and hopefully we sign scuderi.

canucks are at 59.6 cap right now
