Booth/Ballard buyout could make it work [too lazy to calculate it lol]

Darren Dreger: Edmonton Oilers willing to pay premium for Cory Schneider. The expected price is the 7th overall pick and Vancouver really wants a top young center.

Mike Oxbig 06-29-2013 03:44 PM

Cant expect to win anything without clutch scoring. Wouldn't mind taking horcoff as our 3rd line Center if oilers eat some of his salary along with eberle for cory + ballard. :joy:

Schneider is gonna burn us in the asshole if he goes to Edmonton short and long term

If we can get some solid return then I guess we'll have to live with it

:fuckthatshit:

How many times does it need to be said that Booth CANNOT be bought out! You can't buy out an injured player!

Not really racist! 06-29-2013 04:56 PM

Schneider for Yakupov straight up
Edler for Couturier + 2013 1st

Any takers?

I think some here might be more fond for Ryan/Edler straight up....

hotshot1 06-29-2013 04:59 PM

I'd trade Booth and Ballard for anything, even a 7th rounder.

68style 06-29-2013 05:04 PM

I'd personally pass on Yakupov, seems cocky/bad attitude.

Seguin has the upside IMO, he wasn't used in the right circumstances and positions for most of this season so sho. And keep in mind the guy's age

I don't fully follow the reluctance to trade within your own division. Realize if you're making the right trade, there's just as much a chance of the players you're getting to burn the other team a new asshole. Given the salary cap, buyouts, all of this crap which is making it hard to move Lu, you make the best possible hockey trade possible at this point and trade with whoever is willing to give you the best return IMO.

You can trade a Cam Neely to a team outside of the conference even and that trade can still come back to bite your ass 20+ years later in the SCF.

Probably the same amount of times it takes to remind people how hard Grabner sucked when we got rid of him, and we actually got something in return for him!

Gillis confirms that Cory Schneider is in play. Plenty of interest. Also heard Alex Edler is in play?

It's official.
The Vancouver Canucks are shopping goaltender Cory Schneider.
On the hockey team's official Twitter account Saturday afternoon, general manager Mike Gillis is quoted as saying “we'll see what happens.”
The club has even gone so far as to re-Tweet a post from Vancouver Sun Columnist Iain Macintyre which states that Gillis is listening to offers for Schneider.
This is a big shift from the club, which many presumed were looking to move former starter Roberto Luongo.

bobbinka 06-29-2013 05:52 PM

if schneids goes to edmonton, who do you guys think would be coming back along with their 7th overall pick?

7th overall pick does nothing for us right now

Luongo for hemsky or Schneider for eberle to begin talks.

No matter how you look at it. The canucks have a lot of salary issues to deal with. They can trade tanev and his rights for all I care. Fix the cap and move on.

XplicitLuder 06-29-2013 06:40 PM

Trade tanev? No thanks Jeff

Yakupov is fucken awesome and a pure goal scorer that loves the game of hockey that we haven't really seen since Bure. He's the kind of player that will change a game and we have been missing that for years. I would take it in a heart beat if I could and the fans will love it as well once they can get over the trade.

Mike Oxbig 06-29-2013 06:50 PM

Keep dreaming guys, Oilers will never trading Hall, RNH, Yakupov even Eberle.

Hemsky + 7th overall for Schneids Ballard + 2014 2nd :D

I'd argue that Pat Kane follows a similar mold, but he has actually delivered thus far. He's got the explosive speed, good hands, and a bit of laziness at times too that Bure was famous for :P You also have to keep in mind that players today are all stronger, faster, and bigger than players that Bure was playing with at the peak of his career.

:fuuuuu::fuuuuu:

Well if only he was willing to wait a year and see how things played out he would have had his opportunity in a huge way with Kesler going down, instead of being a dink, or at least his agent being a dink.
