Lol I wouldn't doubt Noel goes before Kane, he seems so out of place as an NHL coach

canucks cant buyout booth until next season, and by that time noel will be fired anyways. jets gm is smart enough to know kane>noel

m3thods 11-27-2013 02:22 PM

^ I'm unaware of the buyout rules. It can only be done in the offseason?

I do agree that Noel will be fired before Kane gets traded. My previous comment was just to comment on the fact that anything is possible.

-not sure about other NHL teams but the Canucks have their pecking order of salaries pretty well defined. Sedins 7.0 million, Luongo 6 million, then Kesler at 5.0 million.

-would it be a concern in the locker room that Kesler gets butt hurt over Kane getting paid more than him if Evander became a Canuck?

Don't get me wrong. -would like this guy on our team. Would his presence upset the veterans in the locker room?

I think at this point, you can call Kesler a 5 mil 2 way center. He's not a 40 goal scorer. At this point in time, he's a 25-30 goal scorer (if even?) capable of getting to 40. In my opinion he would be better suited as a shut down center as he was before, lining up against top lines. I wouldn't bat an eyelash at giving Kesler 5m for keeping him a shut down player first and foremost, given he's an all-situations player.

Also at this point in time, you could argue that Kane is a better scorer than Kesler. Given that the most pressing need for the Canucks is goal scoring, I don't think Kane making more than Kesler (it's 250k, not like he's making millions more) is an issue for the club.

As for the room, I'm sure they don't care. The Sedins sure wouldn't. Why should anyone else. If Kesler gets butthurt at that kind of scenerio then it's good that he got his A removed.

Jensen, 2nd, Booth for Evander Kane

:derp: but Evander Kane has beef with the Canucks!

So Kesler with 2 years left and begins to produce again.. whats the pecking order in salaries at

I'm a Kesler fan, but im also a believer that this guy is outta here if he isn't makin 6.5+ after this deal ends

Mike Oxbig 11-27-2013 03:19 PM

LOL anything over 6 is consider 1st line material... 5.2-5.7 for him only cause hes not better than Mike Richards or Jeff Carter.

Giving Burrows 4.5 was already retarded. Real value 3.5!

Your opinion.. wanna ask other teams in the league that lack the depth down the middle?

Kukla's Korner Hockey - Kukla's Korner

-would be nice to have this local player on our team. -not gonna happen with his $5.25 million salary.

Salary aside, I don't see it ever happening. The kid's a punk. Square peg round hole.

Jets will fire Noel before they ship Kane

Well just looking at other defensive forwards around the league he's not worth 6.5+ although some bottom feeding team will pay that price not.

Toews - 6.3 *
Datsyuk - 6.7 *
Bergeron - 6.5 *
Kopitar - 6.8 *
Zetterberg - 6
Couture / Pavelski - 6

Since the cap is increasing he could possibly get 6.3 maximum because he cant even rackup points like similar players above. They all play depth role down the middle.

Renthal 11-27-2013 03:51 PM

andrew ebbett is in the lineup for pittsburgh tonight, and he already has an assist :suspicious:

Only 1mil over-payment. I think he deserves that type of money, after playing well above his 2mil salary from his last contract.

Too bad he's in a bit of a funk right now. Whole team is... but he's probably the most clutch player we have on the team.

Mike Oxbig 11-27-2013 04:09 PM

You know why he's clutch?!

Spoiler!

spideyv2 11-27-2013 04:11 PM

Andrew Ebbett is clutch and legit

pitts vs. leafs game is pretty damn entertaining! 5-5 half way through the 3rd.. both goalies dont look great.. malkin just pushed bernier into the net with his stick then tapped in the puck, non reviewable lol

Mike Oxbig 11-27-2013 06:32 PM

Leafs just...

Looks like Olympic roster deadline moved forward to Jan 7.

In other news, Stammer recovers in time to lead the tournament in goals including the good medal game winner.

Yep totally possible (though not going to happen).

Here's a playtime scenario:

Buy out Booth. Send a salary the Jets way (likely less than 5.25, and likely a D man which is what the Jets need imo) in a Kane trade. Bring up Corrado.

Trouba is going to be a stud. He's a blue-chip prospect in my opinion.

It would be nuts if the Canucks got Kane. Always been a big fan of his, but like others, coach goes before Kane does. That said, Noel is well-respected around the league and it would be unfortunate if he got the pull.

zx7rrrr 11-28-2013 08:20 AM

You guys are crazy thinking Kane will ever get traded. He's the jets Franchise player. Talent like that is so hard to come by in the nhl

Your thoughts about coach Roy so far? He's an emotional guy, that's for sure. His behaviour on the bench during some games is pretty unprofessional.

-pushing the partition during a heated argument with Ducks coach Boudreau is unacceptable behaviour for any NHL coach.

Roy needs to understand that although he was a Stanley cup winning goalie, he's gotta earn his respect among his coaching brethren and the refs as a rookie coach.

Then he gets into a war of words with Blues' coach Hitchcock during a game with St. Louis on Wednesday.

-love Hitchcock's response to Roy. It's gold!

Avs' Roy, Blues' Hitchcock exchange post-game barbs

Seems to me that there's different rules for everybody in this league," Roy said. "I guess the old guys are allowed to do whatever they want and I guess us, because we are younger, we are not allowed to say anything. I am a little (mad) about that."

When informed of Roy's comments, Hitchcock did not mince words of his own.

"Oh, give me a break," Hitchcock said. "Tell Patrick to shut the ---- up."

Exactly. If you want Kane, be prepared to have the following, Prospect (Guance Jensen Hunter) + Roster player + pick.

Look at what Washington paid for Erat...lol

Unless Gillis tries to sign Marco Sturm from Germany and pick up Samuelson from detroit, maybe we can get Kane.....:troll:

Hondaracer 11-28-2013 11:42 AM

Mg doesn't get players with attitude problems either
