Lol this guy. We've had the same core for 2-3 years who still can't score more than 2 goals in a game, yet Gillis fails to see it. Or maybe no one wants to trade with him? :lawl: |
Is MG serious? He thinks that making a trade for more offensively gifted players is jumping the gun??? -smoking crack like Rob Ford? The team is losing partly because they are struggling to score goals. That's crystal clear to anyone. |
Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if teams aren't trading with him. Posted via RS Mobile |
Let's be serious, were losing cause of Lu Posted via RS Mobile |
just a reminder: 4:30 start tonight |
In that same interview he said he was on the phone 8 hours yesterday. Unless he's calling LiveLinks, I'm assuming he's working the phones for a trade. He also brought up good points such as how hard it is to trade in today's NHL. Everything has to work out for 2 GMs- contract term and dollar, making sure it all fits under the cap, finding the exact right player fits, so on and so forth, to pull a trigger on a trade in the middle of a season. Almost all the top-tier teams are near the cap, so the only teams to deal with are the bottom-dwellers which are usually also the revenue-sharing teams hovering just above the cap floor. If memory serves me right, teams in those situations rarely have young studs. They usually have overpaid veterans that other teams offload in order for the shitty team to get to the floor. The NHL talent is spread out as it is. It's very rare to have a trade for top-six players between 2+ teams (like Boston/Dallas). Just because we want a trade, doesn't mean that they present themselves all the time. That said, as a GM he can't throw his current team under the bus, hence his comments. The sort of comments where a GM says that his team needs help are reserved for just after the season ends, which for the Canucks will likely be March :troll: |

I'll give MG the benefit of the doubt that he just made that comment to not look desperate. The last time he looked desperate, no one wanted to trade with him... |
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu |
solid hit by weise. i'd like to see him play with archibald. |
Archibald - Richardson - Weise looks like a decent 4th line |
