Bob Hartley is a piece of shit, and if there's one thing hockey doesn't need, its staged fighting. Putting out the 4th line to start was a classless move. I respect the way torts defended the team, even if he may have gone overboard. I think the players will appreciate how much he cares.

Sedins and westgarth is a mismatch and nothing would of happend .the goons would of got instigators and got booted out of the game..bieska didn't want to fight westgarth Cuz he knew it was a mismatch

torts starting his 4th line to match their 4th line doesnt mean the flames had to fight either. but go look at the replay, in the line brawl, the flames' players all drop their gloves first. that WAS their intention.

I don't understand why Torts couldn't have just put his 2nd or 3rd lines out to start. A little more toughness than the first line, a little more skill (theoretically) than Calgary's 4th line. I understand it was a stupid move by Hartley, but Torts didn't have to take the bait.

You can't risk Kesler, kass or higgins or booth when the line up is already thin

You can't blame torts. Gotta fight fire with fire.

You also don't want to back down on home ice. I'm glad things happened the way they did. If torts put out lines 1,2,3, possibly they wouldn't have scrapped and the goons would have been free to take out canuck players in the rest of the game.

Hartley is to blame. I'm new to hockey, so I don't know all the players and history, but the way torts reacted I'd back him up any day.

What the hell are you supposed to do when the Flames send out their goons? Send out our best players with the risk of them getting tossed out the entire game or have the Sedins fight (huge LOL) and possibly get injured?

The only way this could've been avoided was if Hartley didnt send out his 4th line in the first place. Torts had every reason to be pissed and do what he did.

plus if you look at how tame the hit that took down Henrik was, it's easy to understand why torts didn't put the 1st line out there. Despite what PJ Stock thinks.
