Eriksson is severely underrated. I pick him in all my hockey pools and he's always money in the bank

@DarrenDreger: Seguin, Peverly and Button to Stars. For Eriksson, J.Morrow R.Smith and Matt Fraser.

Boston really need it's cap space to sign rask eh

Mike Oxbig 07-04-2013 11:16 AM

Not really.................. Boston is basically 'retooling' and upgrading their roster.

I'd take Eriksson > Seguin any day

jeedee 07-04-2013 11:19 AM

Still waiting for Gillis to make a "change" and trade a roster player for an ESTABLISHED PLAYER and NOT A PROSPECT..............

For NOW, I would too (Especially if you are Boston who needs more scoring) but down the road, Seguin still has the potential to be a superstar. Also, the Bruins does need the cap space (peverley alone makes 3.25 so that's a lot of their books) so this move makes sense for them without "downgrading" the talent much, etc

now, they have 9 million to re-sign rask and find a replacement for horton/jagr

AWDTurboLuvr 07-04-2013 11:25 AM

This is a trade that works great for both teams. BOS needs someone to play wing and get an awesome two-way forward. DAL is a younger team and they get a potential 1C with Seguin. Benn gets to play LW again and should garner more points. Peverly will be their 2nd line centre, something they need.

Not going to happen...
Seems like the next few seasons, Canucks are going to experiment and leave room open for the prospects to fill.

I guess it's not a bad idea... but we'll probably remain as a "1st round caliber" team for next few years.
:okay:

Yeah....seems like the Canucks are going into a rebuild rather than retool :okay:

This move is awesome for Dallas. They have a cupboard full of prospects they were able to deal.

Seguin slots in at 1C with Benn back at wing where he thrives.

Peverly will slot in as 2C. He was a centre in Atlanta and put up 55 points as their centre until he got moved to wing on the Bruins.

Sometimes a change of scenery is all a young player needs to refocus.

I'm so up for a rebuild. Great as the Sedins and Luongo are,, I'm getting tired of the same old - same old.

As a fan, I'm excited at the suspense of new blood; maybe even a changing of the old guard peharps.

Problem is a lot of money is tied up on D and most of them have no trade clauses.

Edler $5
Garrison $4.6
Bieksa $4.6
Hamhuis $4.5

That's almost 30 percent of your cap space.

Not bad for the Habs.

Easy signing cause Briere DOES meet the team's height restrictions

Honestly, he can't be worse than Barker

GrapeDrink 07-04-2013 01:58 PM

^yep, he would likely be cheap enough for the canucks to afford too and could be a solid 6/7 D option.

:suspicious: not sure if srs...

That didn't take long. Ballard, $3 million over 2 years with Wild.

Looks like Raymond going to Calgary.
