So Mike Sullivan followed Torts to Vancouver from NY. Was he the only assistant in NY? Gulutzan has hair like a cross between Zack Morris and the Iceland coach from The Mighty Ducks 2. |
I've been out in places where Canucks players happened to be hanging about 3 times the past 6 months (restaurants and lounges). I always saw Kess, Bieksa, Burrows etc. and Lou hanging out together. Schneider was never around. No matter what anyone says that room had to be split and even though I've hated on Luongo since the Chicago series I think if we are going to do something with this core then trading Lou would have created a lot of bad feelings. The time to trade Louongo was last year. F*ck Gillis. |
I hope Filppula comes to Vancouver with good defense and good on the dot. http://stats.tabita.org/faceoffs/pla...tteri_filppula Rotate Schroeder and Kassian on 2nd line RW, if fail go acquire somebody on deadline for cap hit discount reasons. :D |

Schneider designated number 1 goalie, so he was going to get the start ASAP. Maybe even Schneider had a say in it. When your team is down 2-0 in the series, you'll want to play as long as the injury isn't severe. Management was also hoping for "shutout" performance, which Luongo wasn't capable of. With the way the team was playing, the only way to win was 1-0, and obviously Schneider didn't deliver either. Posted via RS Mobile |

Sigh....... another season to look forward to. New coach, new faces............ hopefully this time it will pan out. At least it got people talking Canucks again in a positive sort of way. I just want to see Torts give it to the media. Gong show, LOL. |

Seeing those guy's birth dates make me feel so old! I was just about to start high school when Bo was born. |
can someone explain why Penalty in minutes is shown off. Like...is it better to have a high number or low number? Just dunno what they're trying to accomplish with the PIM stat. |

ya draft day is always a grim reminder of our age...:Petting |
Does anyone think Canucks will be picking up anyone during free agency? I hope we pick up a guy like filpula for the bottom 6 and maybe a depth guy! Still don't get why they wouldn't resign lappiere he's a big body, can score in the shoot out, decent in the dot and an energy guy. Posted via RS Mobile |
doubt Canucks are in the market for anything more than 4th line depth, unless they are trading away a D/Booth they simply don't have the cap space to get anyone. Canucks have 7.4 mil left to fill at min 3 F and a D, but most teams keep an extra D and F so pretty much 7 mil to fill 6 players, with 1 being Tanev who I think will get 1.5-2. |
So that being said shit rebuild that gillis said he was going to do pretty much screwed himself over in trying to sign any free agents! Posted via RS Mobile |
Free agent = 3rd line center and 4th line center depth (Goc/Gordon/Filpula/etc) Kinda crazy if we dont resign lapperrie leading our team in hits, he can play on 3rd and 4th line and he's the type of player that will win you a cup with dat depth. Trade deadline = get a top six winger (cap hit reasons) if we are all in, while schroeder and kassian rotate 2nd line RW duty |
Gillis = idiot Not signing lappiere = dumb move by gillis since we need a centre I'm guessing he's giving the centre job to monster lain! Posted via RS Mobile |
Still waiting for OP Gillis to deliver his "changes". This team is going nowhere unless a core player is traded. Unless Horvat makes the team next season...but for now he's a prospect. We already lost the chance to trade Edler for a player that can make an impact right away, and now his NTC kicked in.... |
Probably didn't re-sign Lapierre to help improve the team's image around the league. Posted via RS Mobile |
lol I have a feeling this team is already in rebuild mode.... Gillis has not done any trade at all that would return an immediate gain that would improve the team and Sedins have one year left on their contract |
