Sure hope they'll remedy this and allow all these kids to go given all the chatter of how low sales are (can even buy discounted tickets from group buy websites).

of course, luongo's trade value was destroyed by rumors that revealed the organization's and the player's desperation to put together a trade being effectively confirmed by them; i wouldn't expect kesler to repeat that recent foolish error in judgement.

Early indication from one #NHL club say #Canucks ask for Kesler may include as many as 3 pieces. A 1st rd pick, roster player/ prospect.

1st, Ryan Johansen, Rychel? lol I can only dream.

Iceman-19 02-27-2014 02:12 PM

Good, ask big or keep him, we win either way.

Gh0stRider 02-27-2014 02:16 PM

Most Vancouver Canucks fans have already closed the door on the 2013-14 season.

An online survey of 900 fans found that 89 per cent don’t expect the NHL team to make the playoffs, and 77 per cent say they’ve given up on the season.

The team has had an abundance of injuries, particularly at centre, where captain Henrik Sedin was out for a crucial stretch, Ryan Kesler is out until further notice, and Mike Santorelli is lost for the season.

The Province survey respondents pinpointed the No. 1 problem as general manager Mike Gillis, whose talent-thin team is susceptible to crucial injuries to its aging core of veterans.

Two out of three fans want Gillis gone and 33 per cent say he’s the team’s biggest problem, followed by the disappointing season of Alex Burrows — the former top scorer who was injured early and is still waiting for his first goal of the season.

The disappointment in the team’s performance is mirrored in the public’s lukewarm response to the Heritage Classic, a much-hyped game at B.C. Place featuring another struggling team, the Ottawa Senators.

Asked if they were “feeling the buzz” for Sunday’s Heritage Classic,” two out of three answered, “No way.”

Problematic ticket sales for the showpiece event probably point to either an embarrassment of empty seats for the TV cameras, or plenty of last-minute deals for consumers.

Rookie head coach John Tortorella fares better with fans than Gillis — 69 per cent want the coach to stay on.

Tortorella promised to bring in a gritty, defence-first team, and in a way fans point to that.

Asked the team’s major flaw, 72 per cent said ‘scoring’ — a predictable result when the coach preaches defensive responsibility over all else.

More troubling for Tortorella would be the fan’s second pick for team problem — “a desire to win.”

If Gillis wants or needs the fans’ guidance looking forward, 80 per cent said the Canucks’ long-term priority should be ‘skill and goalscoring’ — talents, as Gillis knows, also highly prized by the NHL’s 29 other general managers.

Canucks fans bail on season, dump on GM Mike Gillis

McKenzie "I can say this, when talking to people around the NHL they've indicated that Kesler has let it be known which teams he'll go to"

McKenzie "many media in Sochi that were around Kesler said they heard Kesler say he wanted to be traded and I've talked to them"

Better be a damn good roster player and prospect coming back. None of this 2 way forward shit. Get us a player with potential to SCORE. We already have a 2 way player in Horvat.

Johanssen booya.

I have lofty dreams.

CRS 02-27-2014 02:55 PM

Guys...

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I would really like to see a trade for this Ryan Johansen guy from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

AzNightmare 02-27-2014 03:09 PM

Doesn't Kesler have a say where he wants to go?
I don't see why he would want to be traded to Columbus.

Contact one of the local kids hockey teams that got fucked by the Canucks and give them the pair.

Watch at home with a better view and know you did your good deed for the year.

Mike Oxbig 02-27-2014 03:57 PM

Kesler probably would go to Columbus to put that city on the map and being drafted out of Ohio state son.

m3thods 02-27-2014 04:01 PM

To add to that-

he can practically walk home from the rink to Livonia. There are way too many signs pointing to him being traded to CBJ. We should all be proud that we broke the trade here first.

Special K 02-27-2014 04:18 PM

Damn... My signed Kesler Jersey

FS: $50

:troll::okay:

Mike Oxbig 02-27-2014 04:25 PM

3.5 hr drive home to Livonia from Columbus

Hurry up and give us Johansen, Rychel and 1st

Ch28 02-27-2014 04:35 PM

Can't wait to see people's minds blown when he goes to CBJ
Posted via RS Mobile

m3thods 02-27-2014 04:49 PM

Do you mean people as in here on RS or the general Vancouver fan?

Because I'm thinking heads would explode here on RS when he eventually goes to CBJ. I'd probably start yelling "I TOLD YOU SO" to random people on the street.

Mike Oxbig 02-27-2014 04:54 PM

throw in edler for murray too
