I agree. When the first rumour came out, frenzy started. Then they said how gillis canceled. But murph said it was canceled beforehand. Then even more frenzy. Media is prob one reason why it's so hard to win the cup in Vancouver. The stupid questions that they ask or provoke gives so many reasons for the opposing team to bring their A game or hate the Canucks.

:suspicious: most nights it seems like keslers the only one who gives a damn about winning... honestly, i don't think theres a player on the team with more competitive fire than kes

the guy acts like a dick off the ice to the media, no doubt about that (probably why they're having a field day at his expense), but on the ice, if the whole team played as hard as he does, the cup would have been ours already

the way i look at it, if its true he wants out, the team could use his value on the market to get decent prospects back and kickstart our rebuild. if the reports are false, we get to keep our MVP and heart of the team :woot2:

i think for the most part, hansen seems to be one of the few guys who really tries each night. he doesn't have many lazy shifts.

Speaking of sleep, thank you Vancouver Canucks. For the first time in months, I got at least seven hours of contiguous sleep. No sleep paralysis, to boot.

I fell asleep somewhere in the second period....... I did see Jodi Vance (she looked great, but was so out of place - awkward). So it looks like we won = bonus.

Yeah, here comes the streak.

Go, Canucks, GO!

Jmac 02-27-2014 09:31 AM

I ended up having to work midway through the 1st, missed basically the entire game ...

And we won for once ... :okay:

I don't know that that's entirely true.

Though all sports teams need to deal with media, the intensity of the media will vary greatly.

Take for example florida or phoenix, I'd hardly say their teams face the same kind of media attention that say toronto or vancouver faces.

spoon.ek9 02-27-2014 10:22 AM

the scrutiny and intensity of a canadian market's media is well documented. add to that a large group of fickle fans, and you have the giant pressure cooker that is vancouver. yes, they are professional athletes but everyone has their limit.
