Lol Gills setting up a disgruntled Canuck trade package with Lu + Kesler?

Whatever it is, this is bad on a management level

You gotta run with Luongo here. He's here to stay, you can't trade him for decent return either. The goalie market is weak especially with so many willing to be moved.

Eddie Lack to start for Vancouver Canucks in Heritage Classic: report - 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic - Senators vs. Canucks

From the article above, "Luongo hasn't played since returning from winning a silver medal with Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. In 42 games this season he is 19-16-6 with a 2.38 GAA, .917 save percentage and three shutouts. He played one game for Canada at the Olympics."

Obviously someone was tripping on when they wrote this article, silver medal... Canada? Wtf!?

AzNightmare 03-01-2014 02:53 PM

That's a nice way to piss off your goalie.
Lack has been solid, but I think letting Luongo play in a "special" game like this is a would have been a class act from management.

But this is a stupid article. What's it trying to say??

Quote:

VANCOUVER -- Eddie Lack, rather than Roberto Luongo, will start in goal Sunday for the Vancouver Canucks against the Ottawa Senators in the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic (4 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, RDS), according to TSN.

Canucks coach John Tortorella said following the team's practice Saturday that he would wait until Sunday to name his starting goaltender.

If Lack gets the start it would be his third straight.
:fulloffuck: :fulloffuck:

POS media. At least the article has fixed the gold medal part now.

PiuYi 03-01-2014 03:01 PM

I'm all for riding the hot goalie, but if being your team's #1 means anything and being your team's all-time winningest goalie means anything, luu should get the start in a special game like that

bobby luu's been shafted so many times by this organization

Nabatron 03-01-2014 03:01 PM

This team and management is run by a bunch of clowns....first Kesler now Lu whats next? oh yeah probably not making the playoffs... I mean can ownership really keep Gillis if and when this shit happens? Two first round exits in a row to not making playoffs noway they can keep Gillis!

Mike Oxbig 03-01-2014 03:03 PM

It's just a way to make Luongo ask for a trade and go anywhere, taking away an opportunity like this from him...

Good Gillis
.
.
GG

Bonka 03-01-2014 03:09 PM

Sentimentality aside how blind is management at realising the team's problems when you need to ride the hot goalie to face the Senators?

The team scraping together a playoff berth only delays the inevitable.

^^ Gillis watched the 2 previous games, saw that we came out with 3 out for points...thinks to self oh team is fine wont do anything for trade deadline, misses playoffs then fired.....Thinks back oh maybe I should have done something to help the team! AKA Gillis logic!

RRxtar 03-01-2014 04:57 PM

If they are fucking Lu around again, and not going to trade him, I swear to god Im taking some time off from the Canucks. I said it before, but I really think this is a terrible organization the way they treat players.

I'm going to be pretty choked if Lu doesn't start tomorrow, a special event like this and they decide to not play the guy they jerked around a year and a half and handled everything with class?... oh man this will be the last straw for him ...

Tim Budong 03-01-2014 05:05 PM

I ain't even mad anymore

Wouldn't surprise me if Kesler and Lu don't get traded.

More drama for next season.

"I don't want to start going through this again," Luongo said. "When I am on the ice I give myself 100 percent, I try to be the best I can be, and the rest is out of my control, so I am not going to start putting myself in a spot like that again. Whatever happens from here on in, I am just going to battle, and if it's me, it's me. If it's not, it's not."
