Some people on this thread are saying that the players have stopped listening to Torts.
Torts said it best when the team played poorly against Florida this season: "No respect at all".

The players have lost respect for Torts after he tried going to the Flames locker room to beat up Hartley last game. Is it just coincidence that this team has gone downhill since that incident?

I also think that Torts' system of offensive and defensive play for this team is not the right fit based on our players' skillsets.


Hamhuis and other d-men looked hesitant after making reads during the Dallas game. -never seen our d-men get caught up pinching so many times with the result being a Dallas goal.

If our players need to think during a game about how to play in a certain situation because they are unsure of how to play the system or even worse, they have doubts about Torts' system, it's no wonder this team can't score goals or defend properly.

Perhaps the guys have not fully grasped Torts' system of play and also have doubts whether his system is a recipe for success.

There is plenty of blame to share among many people for the team's weaksauce season so far.

Blame Aquaman if indeed he is micromanaging the team by making decisions on trades. Blame MG for making bad trades and drafting poorly. Blame Torts for not being able to adapt his coaching system to his players' skillsets instead of coaching the same way since his days with Tampa. Blame the players for what's happening on the ice.

Yes dont blame the fact that every team must go through a rebuild to get good again. We have the shittiest draft record yet no one talks about our scouting staff ever.

MG gets some of the blame for the scouting staff's work. If he thinks that there are better scouts in the league, then hire them instead of keeping the weaksauce scouts we have now. Why keep them on the payroll?

I agree. Since gillis arrived, I never knew he would keep Ron delmore and the scouting staff. Thought the days if Burke and nonis he would fire them all.


Can't really blame torts, the Canucks still lost when it was Sullivan and gully coaching.
