Does anyone's wifi get cut off during the time a microwave is on? Lol............ |
If that's happening to you, your microwave has a serious leak. Replace it. |

-To add on, my old DIR655 router never had this problem. Would it be because Telus' modem is just extra weak? (Given that microwaves are suppose to leak regardless [am I even right?:suspicious:]). |
lol maybe your router is the problem |

Their router is ASS Wireless extender doesn't help much either. What worked was connecting my own router to it and now it's awesome. I used this guide. How to Connect Your Own Router to Telus Optik TV Actiontec Router | www.prayforsnow.com However I didn't need to set a new ip for my router like the step says. Also they didn't mention that you should turn off dchp which I had to do otherwise my internet would cut off for hard wired devices all the time. Posted via RS Mobile |
I signed up with Shaw last week. It was $29.95 for 6 months for the High Speed 20 (20 mbs down), no contract. Ping rates were pretty bad and upload capped at 0.5 mbs. Called in and complained and they bumped me up to High Speed 25 (25 mbs down, 2.5mbs up) at no charge. Strangely, ping rates are much better now. I just moved from Toronto where I was using Bell Fibe. I miss those speeds - 25 mbs down/ 25 mbs up...really responsive. Not sure if Shaw is capping torrent speeds, but not as quick as Bell for me. |

anybody's Telus TV pausing every couple mins for recordings? its so fucking annoying g Posted via RS Mobile |
Agreed with above posters. The wireless on the actiontec v1000h is garbage. No matter how many configurations I've tried, the wireless range only got worse. The PS3, and any other wireless devices located in the basement, only a couple of feet away from the Telus router and I get disconnects every couple minutes. The signal is a constant 30%, no higher. |
Thats why i gave up with wireless and bought powerlines. |
Are you guys paying $20 for the HD Chinese channels? Posted via RS Mobile |
i have broadband 50 and im rarely getting the usual speeds (usually ~25mbps).any ideas what could be wrong?using linksys router ea6400 if that helps. |

Telus is crap. About 4 months ago got us to switch our phone internet from show to telus. Use Bell for TV. They gave us Telus TV for one of our TV's too. This is a vacation rental house that we only use a few times a month. I go there one night to relax and catch up on some TV. I notice there is no internet. I Try everything I can then I call them. Trying to find a contact number was a pain in the ass. After multiple tries i finally get to someone. and they tell me we have not paid our bill in 4 months. I tell them we have never received a bill and with show it was automatic payment via CC. I tell him tho take my CC and he says he can't and it has to be done by another department but that department is only open till 5 P.M. Now I am pissed because i have wasted over an hour. Next day I call and the guy on the phone is a ahole so I threaten to cancel. He tells me I can't because of a 1 year contract he is going to get a collection agency after me. Know one told me about a 1 year contract. I told him I want to talk to his boss bu he says he is the only one i can talk to. I know he can't hang up on me so I put him on speaker phone turn on some music and start to do some work on the computer. Then I decide to go to Costco while he is still on the phone. At Costco I get a call on the cell with someone else from Telus. After some digging they find out the service address was right but the billing address had 2 numbers switched and it was there fault. They gave me a free month for wasting over 2 hours of my time. |
They should have gave you more than a month in my opinion , no one deserves to be treated poorly. I'm going on optik tv and telus 50 by the end of the month, so far telus has been great to me (only have telus 15 all these years). Barely any downs maybe like once every year. No slow downs either with 2 wired and about 10 wifi on their actiontec router which i configured for about a month to perfect settings. |

i've had Telus Optik TV for 3 years now and have yet to experience any outages. It's been extremely reliable. |
