Anyone gone down to Pt.Roberts recently? Thinking of going down tmw get some gas. Not paying freakin 1.65/l here.

noclue 04-16-2014 07:06 PM

With .90 exchange rate, wear & tear, time and fuel consumption going to USA, you're not saving much these days.

Unless you just want to go for an enjoyable drive.

shell was 116.x
can am (sp) was 106.9

regular of course today @ 11am

LP700-4 04-16-2014 07:20 PM

Ive actually never been there before, but im thinking what the hell finals are done might as well go for a drive.

Apparently the chevron there is a canadian one? Buddy said its in liters instead of gallons and they take canadian dollar. Car for some reason doesnt like shell 91.

Not really racist! 04-16-2014 07:34 PM

chevron/USA/texaco are further down, I didn't venture down there so its probably the same price point as shell

I think all PR gas stations are in liters for our convenience but its USD

not sure about the Canadian dollar thing at chevron... I usually use CC so maybe someone else can chime in

tonyzoomzoom 04-16-2014 08:42 PM

I believe they all take C$ (not at par anymore, of course)

kkthind 04-16-2014 08:47 PM

premium was 4.13 a gallon at Blaine shell today, the one on D street

Went down today at noon Chevron and Shell were at 1.22 for premium while Texaco was 1.13 for premium aswell.

I remember hearing Chevron and Texaco were the same gas so decided to be cheap.

Here its 1.50 for regular so premiums probably up at 1.70. Saved 60 c a liter almost. Worth the 30 minute drive.

damn I wish this translated here, the $30 savings for me is not worth the time to fill up there

I am here right now, the border line up is ridiculously long now as compared to before. Not even worth 45mins unless you have nexus

Just went down around 11am. Line to and from PR was fairly long but quick. Maybe a 10~ minute wait?
I believe it is still 1.229 for premium at chevron.

keifun 04-18-2014 02:45 PM

Just got back from PR. Line up was about 10mins in Nexus Lane into USA.

Chevron/Shell 122.9 for Premium

Saw a nicely modded blue FRS with gold wheels down while waiting. Asian girl driver.:woot2:

I was down today around 11:30-noon. Definitely avoid those times if you don't have Nexus.

Also, with the new right turn only lane that goes up the hill, lots of retards like to use that to drive up to the light and then cut back into the Nexus line. Fuck those people. I guess they must be really important.

Happened last weekend and a cop was at the top pulling some of those people over IN the Nexus lane totally blocking it. /facepalm. Not sure what reason he was using to pull them over but I liked it, except for the spot he was using.

kkthind 04-18-2014 03:00 PM

great thing about nexus is that you laugh at all those people that have to wait in line for an hour or so and your nexus lane has a casual smooth flow of traffic

just got back, so awesome watching 2 hour wait for normies and i just drive past straight to the gate. 3.99 gallon premium and $10 case of bud

racerman88 04-18-2014 08:40 PM

This morning was pretty ridiculous.
The line was just around 21/2 hours long, past the exit to get to the truck crossing.
I just pulled onto the shoulder and drove all the way down until the nexus lane started and crossed through the border in just over 5 mins.
Only hold up was people doing the duty free cheat and blocking the nexus lane when they leave.

Fuck those people that block that lane. That duty free needs to have attendants like the duty free has for the truck crossing. Those guys at the truck crossing duty free make sure you buy something or back you go to the back of the line.

Depends how low you are but going into Point Roberts, the speed bump isn't that bad. I think I scrape when I come back to Canada though.

I dont laugh, cause I don't want them to consider getting the nexus themselves and add more people into the nexus queue :ilied:

Is the road work on the hill leading up to the PR border fixed yet?

^^ Shxt that sucks... I hated coming down the hill last time because of all that road work. And I can't understand why they aren't grooving the whole thing all at one, but instead have to do it in alternating patches...

That can't be good for my suspension...
