NCIX has an unbelievably smoking hot deal on the HD700. $600!!

If I had money to burn, I'd buy a 2nd pair:

EDIT: I clicked the link to make sure it works, and now it says it's sold out!

I bought these...they're on sale at Amazon.ca for $180. They're usually $299.

They're noise-cancelling and Bluetooth but you can also use them wired. Sound great (albeit a lot better wired than with the BT or NC).

audio technicas?

IIRC the m50x is the same as the audio technica m50 except with a detachable cord + it comes with a straight and coiled cord -- do you really want/need the detachable cord?

If not, just get the audio technica m50's you should be able to find them for around $100

I bought the m50x over the m50 as I like the idea of being able to have different types/lengths of cables. I haven't tried the m40x but i can say that the m50x is an amazing bang for your buck headphone and you'll be very happy with them.

Got a pair of Orca Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds from Outdoor tech. Seems decent for a bluetooth earbuds. I just hate to have the wires handing when I am on the bus and this really helps.

Wireless Earbuds for Running & Working Out - Orcas | OutdoorTech
FYI, those are EXACTLY the same as the MeElectronics AF72 (down to the shape of earbuds/remote)

I picked up a pair of AF72s bout 2 months ago from amazon.ca when they had a "stealth" sale for C$43 shipped.

One thing to note is that the actual drivers are housed in the protruding plastic which is usually used as a mounting area for the eartips, this makes the eartips unusually "thick" and if you are the type that have small ears or want to get it into the "inner" portion of your ear for a better seal, they might not fit/hurt.

I "fixed" the problem by purchasing a set of comply foams and they sound decent but at $20+ for 3 pairs, I might just stop using it once the 3 sets wear out.

Oh, and another thing, they have pitiful range (compared to my other BT cans/earphones average of 8m), which is not surprising granted how small they are, but real world range is about 2 meters, ~3+ with iPads (known for having strong BT Tx signals).

Anyone have recommendation for gym headphones? I was looking into the new Beat Studios wireless but I can't justify paying $400 for beats.. I am not a big fan of in-ear headphones because nothing seems to stay inside my ears but I am looking for something with good bass.

very similar to above but.. jaybird bluebuds x.
i've been through many ear buds cheap and expensive. this have been the best so far. bluetooth so no wires. sound quality is great. ordered the active version of these Brand - JayBirdŽ - Bluebuds X - Comply? Foam Tips and they've never fallen out.
only complaint is i've had them for about 6 months and the battery life has gone from about 6-8 hours down to 4-5... no big deal but that's the only neg i've found.

I just recently bought the Jaybirds JF3 online, chose them over the JF4 as the battery life was only 4 hours compared to 6 on the JF3.

Used these for the gym, bluetooth always connects. Battery life is still holding. Can't complain about the sound too much, although wired does have its benefits and these are an older model. They fit very snug and do not fall off while running.

They're worth it to the gf. Fancy colors, on sale price is slightly more than you should pay.

Sennheiser HD598s, Beyerdynamic DT990s, T90s (if you can find these on sale). They're all open-back, so they leak sound, but they all sound great. HD598s and T90s are easier to drive without an amp than the DT990s.

I guess it depends. They do look nice. The only ones that I find looks great and sound decent are the Klipsch STATUS Over-Ear Headphones. Trying to find a pair of headphones for around $150 to $250. Can't seem to find any that looks decent and have decent sound quality so far......

EDIT decided to get a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, seems good review and I like the fact that it comes with 3 different cables. Bundle it with a cheap FiiO E6 Portable Audio Headphone Amplifier just to see how things are. My sister recently got a HiFi set and man sound from that thing is awesome! Makes me want to get one too.

I was at NCIX (the one on Pine and W.Broadway) today, and it had a bunch of headphones out on display to try.

I was interested in the Sennheiser Momentum, but I tested out the other headphones as well just because they were there. I wasn't too impressed by the few Audio-Technica or Beyerdynamic headphones I tried out. There were all (I assume) good headphones in the $200-$300+ range, but they had absolutely no bass imo.

These brands have been recommended from audio forums and from people I know, so I'm not sure if maybe I'm just too much of a "bass-head" for them, or if they were faulty ones at the store, or are they meant to be used with an amp or something?
