I was excited to watch those fights last night - the card looked great, but man was I underwhelmed. Joe mentioned it and I agree - these guys fight offensively to win the belt, then they fight defensively to not lose it. Makes it a little boring to watch. Only fight I enjoyed was Trujillo vs Varner. Even Reem fought boring - and I am an Overeem fan but that was a let down, "I was going for the W".

Agreed. On paper, the card looked loaded, but meh.

And Mir needs to retire. Well, he should have retired about a couple years ago; he looks like a punching bag these days.

Reem's great and all, but a 5 round with Cain? Not a chance. That's if he can get past the other solid fighters as well.

IMO Barao is the new top fighter in MMA today now that both GSP and Andersone are out for who knows how long.

Noovereem doesn't need to be a contender, he just needs to put on exciting co-mains. I think his next fight will be JDS which is kind of scary, but if he destroys JDS then everyone will be :awwyeah: again

At the post fight press conference, Aldo said he'd be open to fighting Pettis, but he said it's up to Dana.

Then Dana said he's up for it, but it's up to Pettis

Then Pettis called and said he wanted the fight.

Dana: "Sounds like we got a fight."

Hopefully Pettis can stay healthy long enough for it to happen
