I fully expect more of this to start happening in 2014, with more bigger name guys stepping up as well. Apparently Gilbert Melendez is going to be on his way to Bellator with a fairly lucrative deal. The UFC has the right to match, but Dana already said Gil makes too much money. There is a chit storm brewing. |
Ken Shamrock too, and Chris Leben Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock speak out on Twitter regarding UFC Fighter pay - FanSided - Sports News, Entertainment, Lifestyle & Technology - 240+ Sites Notice a trend among the complainers though? :suspicious: |

is UFC 170 going to be the lowest buy rate UFC in forever? Women's Bantamweight Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Sara McMann Light Heavyweight Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins Welterweight Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia Welterweight Mike Pyle vs. TJ Waldburger Welterweight Robert Whittaker vs. Stephen Thompson all buy only 4 fighters on the main card are coming off a loss and only 3 fighters have been on the main card of a PPV in their last fight. I literally don't care about any of this card except the Maia/Rory fight, and that ones going to be a snoozer |
172 will be worse |
I'm curious how many buys that card will get. A lot of ppl (a few here) thinks rousey is a huge draw. Even if she is. I dont think she's enough. Atleast more ppl will want to watch bones fight I think especially after that Gus fight Posted via RS Mobile |

Similarly, Ronda can do 1 million buys as the co-main with Tate, or 450K with Liz Carmouche Meanwhile, Bones is doing 300-350K without Chael, CV can do around 350K average, and smaller guys like Faber/Aldo and Ben Henderson barely cracking 300K. I predict this one will do 350K, and Bones will be around 300K. Weidman/Belfort will be around 250K |
^where do these PPV stats come from? Just curious, that's all. Quote:
I agree, even with the fight choice. I usually pay for all the fight cards and have friends come over. Think I may just go to the bar for this one. |

i'm hoping lawler will win... when is matt brown's next fight? i want to see him back in action. he was out due to injury right? |
Of the 3, I think Vitor/Weidman will be most popular with hardcore fans, but mainstream I am not sold on either of them being a draw yet. Maybe this is the one that will prove me wrong :) |

I like these guys but at this point I have no interest in this... I'll probably still watch it though Posted via RS Mobile |
Matt Serra looked like he would need 2 years with mike dolce to make weight |
Lol @ Cormier pushing Cummins at the prefight presser stare down (I thought they would do something to try to hype more like a head push or something lol ) :concentrate: http://cdn.fansided.com/gif/DC_VS_PAT.gif DC looking good though |
i can't tell if he's trying to pretend to be mad or is sincerely annoyed with pat i mean patrick... |

Dana White addresses sponsorship: 'It's not my f--king problem' - Bloody Elbow Not my problem. I'm just going to tax sponsors, restrict sponsors that sponsor in other organizations and sponsors of fighters I have beef with Dw: stop bitching Reporter: I'm not bitching I'm asking a question :suspicious::derp::fulloffuck: I don't think I can watch anymore media scrums |
I have to side with Dana here. If a fighter is on a facebook card or a fight pass card, and he has problems finding sponsors, that's not UFC's problem. Sponsors will want to pay for advertising that reaches the most viewers, and that means sponsoring more established fighters. If you are a new or shitty fighter who is on an undercard, you're going to have less sponsors. That's the fighter's issue, separate from anything else. As for the 'sponsor tax' it is only there for clothing lines |
