Can't wait to play this one. If you have a next gen console, I'd consider waiting before you play this one. Keep in mind the current version is structured for PS4, CD Project will be releasing a PS5 version/patch in the near future, but not yet. No point playing the PS4 version of this game if you'll be getting a better graphical version in the future here. I'm going to wait, as I've been waiting for this game for a damn near decade. |
hope the 1080ti's wont blow up trying to 4k on medium :lol |
10 minutes boys :) |
Just woke up, downloading the 60 GB patch KEKW |
Who else is giving their character a big dick? :ifyouknow: |
Me but on a female Kreygasm Edit: Went for regular size, uncircumcised with normal sized breasts. Because I'm a traditionalist SeemsGood |
Ran out of disk space overnight... No error message until I tried to run the game LUL Time to finally uninstall Witcher 3 after 5 years of never going back to it at 80% complete LUL |
3070 with ultra settings and ray tracing im pumping a solid 60+fps at 1440p if anyone was curious. EDIT: NOT A TI |
Is that with DLSS or not? And 3070 ti, what? |
I am very curious to see what DLSS looks like for me. I didn't like it at all in Control at 1080p. It was definitely meant for 4K, and works fine at 1440p but I feel like it doesn't do a great job of dealing with 720p > 1080p. I hope this game is better at it so I can play with more RT settings |

I have a 3080 and I'm on 1440p high without RT/DLSS and I barely push out 80 in smaller areas. EDIT: I should mention that I'm using custom preset, not the high preset. I meant high as in everything is set to high and all the options turned on minus RT/DLSS. |
Dlss was defaulted to auto I'll be honest, I was expecting the game itself to look better. My character looks like it lacks detail compared to the surroundings |

Turn off DLSS. There's a noticeable difference in character quality, especially if you look at yourself in the mirror if you start off in the Corpo path. https://imgur.com/a/L96iRJB Might help to bump up the sharpness using NVIDIA control panel if you use DLSS. |
DLSS off vs DLSS Auto (DLSS Quality looks bad too, I checked) Definitely looks like garbage (click in for full res if you have to) https://i.imgur.com/dYxDQG7.jpg Mini rant: NVIDIA has reviewers and youtubers super overhyping DLSS, because they test it in the best setting possible. So "it actually looks better than native res" becomes part of the hive mind, even though it's not true at all at anything other than those settings. To everyone else, you're basically playing at a lower than native resolution. This is why it's so disappointing that most good hardware review sites are gone, and replaced by youtubers and then that easily gets spread through social media. Manufacturers are loving it though, so good for them If I posted that on reddit, I'd get downvoted to oblivion, because "it actually looks better than native res" is their reality. I mean if they don't notice it, good for them I guess, but it's kind of frustrating when reality gets rewritten by fiction right before my eyes. |
no spoilers here please but keep posting the reviews with your specs lol... |
the ray tracing is insane, when you get driving during day light hours in a city look at the reflection in the car window can't wait for that 3070 install later in the week. |
My specs I7 8700K @ stock speed 16GB Ram EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Graphics setting: MAX on everything @ 4K Res DLSS: Quality RT: On HDR: On FPS is moving in between 30-42 FPS @ 4K Res, 90-105 FPS @ 1080P Res https://i.imgur.com/ZH7Wxga.jpg |
Playing around with settings in the first scene... I'm on a Ryzen 3600X and RTX 3070 btw, no OC 1080p Ultra RT with DLSS has it hovering in the 50-60 range. You have a choice - DLSS with RT, or native res without RT. And the RT is amazing in this game, so you're going to want to use DLSS and live with the soft look. This even applies to the 3080 and maybe even 3090, unless you're playing with a $1500 card at 1080p. I am going to play around with the settings to try to get that to 70ish while keeping RT on. Edit: The tough part is because of how DLSS works (I think), the framerate stabilizes a bit when you're not moving. So if you're just looking at your FPS, it will be higher when standing still. You'll have to move around a bit to determine if your settings are improving much. So you might think you're getting a nice steady 60 fps, but as soon as you start moving, you'll see dips to 50 and below. That's why my goal is 70, I want those dips to be above 60. |
FFS.. as Skinny mentioned my R9 390 is likely the base for kinda minimum playability seemingly reading toms hardware and elsehwhere.. also my i7 2600k gonna be a bottle neck.. uhggggggg... fucking spent like $600 on that card to basically play Fallout 4 at its limits and that's like the only game I got to run to its full capability now my PC is at the end of its life lol ... fuck |
dlss as i undertand is just ai aliasing/checkerboard scaling, no? parts of the image will look better while others suffer sounds kinda similar to AI in smartphone photography, makes up for poor light sensitivity but will never match the real thing from a dedicated camera |
BTW make sure you're 100% happy with your character's appearance, because you can't change it later. And the lighting in the game is different from the character creation system, so your character will look different in the game. Starting over, I think I can rush through the first mission again Edit: thankfully the game starts you out looking in the mirror, so if you don't like the final results on the first scene, you should start over |
Was playing around and noticed that without DLSS, there's quite a bit of jagged edges. Solution for me was to enable DLSS Quality. There's a slight softening as to be expected, so I used the NVIDIA Sharpen filter and it looks good to me now. |
