Is it worth it to turn on ray tracing if you're only planning to play on 1080p? Or even DLSS for that matter? |
Quote:
as for DLSS, depends on what you care about more, visual quality, or frame rate. I don't think many cards can pull off even 1080p full quality without DLSS though, so it's kind of necessary. Make sure to use quality mode if you do. |

Just not sure if ray tracing is worth the massive drop in FPS |
Without Ray Tracing this looks like a 2018 game KEKW But if the drop is really bad, I understand. Maybe set it to medium and disable RT shadows |

CD Projekt Red announces sweeping 'Cyberpunk 2077' refund plan Quote:

My copy was a gift but I don't think I'd refund it anyway. I'll probably stop playing it though, because I think it's going to be quite a bit better when it's actually finished. Right now as far as the actual game, there are some really good parts, and really bad parts. And of course it looks great. Mostly it just seems unfinished though, IMO. |

XBOX always had a good refund policy - 100% refund if you play less than 2 hours. This is why they didn't need to pull from their store.. But in this case they're extending it to give refunds to anyone who asks. |
I'm curious what on earth they were thinking here. Did they think people wouldn't notice or something? |
i think when game development hits 5 year mark they have to just consider releasing it otherwise they lose focus and increase feature creep look at final fantasy xv that took 10 years that shit would never fly in a western studio |

CDPR had been harboring this kind of cultish fandom the whole time. It's how they got away with other crap like being gross about gender identities, etc The bankers got greedy and pushed an unfinished game. The last delay was a scramble to get the current gen systems working, but they failed. They tried everything they could to obscure that fact, but it totally backfired on them. You can tell who the real game reviewers are that are worth paying attention, based on the experiences they shared before and after release. Sites like Giant Bomb said from day 1 that the game was a buggy mess on PC, and while they couldn't share anything about the console versions since they didn't have them, the writing was on the wall. Other reviewers went full hype mode, giving nothing but glowing reviews, mentioning the bugs in passing or ignoring them. A lot of egg on a lot of faces. Hopefully it'll only be the bankers that get fucked by all this, and not the devs themselves as much. They got greedy, took the opportunity to release an unfinished game before christmas, and it bit them in the ass. |
I just don't understand how publishers keep making the same damn mistake though? We just saw how Anthem, Fallout 76, No Man's Sky, etc, all played out by rushing the title through. Why couldn't they just delay this one until next year, and release it as a true next-gen title on the new consoles and PC only? How many times do publishers need to rush a game out unfinished, only to end up having to offer refunds, and effectively kill the game's reputation long-term? CDPR will definitely fix this game, but the damage is already done. I think that damage would've been far less had this game been simply delayed once again until Q1/Q2 2021. These idiot executives never learn. |

So my parents computer’s OS partition ate shit and I couldn’t repair by the typical way in removing defective drivers etc. So I’ve got it at my house with a clean install on a freshly formatted SSD.. their computer is relatively new: I5 - 6600 @ 3.30ghz 16GB DDR4 And a GTX 1070 Basically I’ll have to install the game tonight and return the computer by New Years or so, if I want to play this game is it worth it to play it on this computer as the game currently sits? Otherwise I’m waiting till I buy a console and that has no timeline lol |
maybe i'll just wait for a 3080 Ti :okay: |

-The atmosphere is amazing. City looks cool and is varied -Characters all look crazy and everyone you run across in missions is interesting. Your "friends" are all actually interesting and well written mostly. Random people are interesting to look at (but you'll see some repeats) -Of course this is made better with ray tracing -The story so far I think is good. Keanu is fucking great, and he's in here a lot But that's where the undercooked part of the game comes in. Combat is dull, especially with buggy enemies who often just forget about you and stand there. The way the 2 methods of play combine (stealth and combat) isn't really cohesive. The crafting system is dull, the interface is bad for it. Inventory, weapon management, etc, is all bad UI. Especially as someone learning to design UI, it's extra noticeable LUL The city looks amazing but it's shallow. There's nothing to do but look at it. It doesn't feel lived in like a GTA or RDR. Everyone in the city is just a very obvious simple script. That's about it for me. The potential is there for a great game. Maybe not one that lives up to the 8 years of hype, but a great game. Right now it's an okay game. If you play it now, you'd probably know if you want to play a better version of it later. I know I do. |
Hmm thanks good points Turns out he got the game for Xmas from our secret Santa exchange so I don’t really want to buy the game twice. Looks like I’m waiting |

Obviously no ray tracing or DLSS on the GTX 1070. On Medium settings at 1440p, most areas are in the mid-to-high 30 fps range with the occasional dip into the mid-20s in higher density areas. The 6700K doesn't even come close to 100% (usually 50-60%) while the GTX 1070 is at 99+%. RAM generally hovers around 10 GB of usage. For a consistent 60 fps, that's Low settings at 1080p. It looks a lot worse, IMO. The good news is that most settings can be switched on the fly (without reloading the game), so if you know you're getting into a situation where you'll want a higher framerate, you can turn down those settings. |
