Position is Price's to lose after he started the 3rd game. There has been no indications that he can't handle it. Problem is we're screwed if he falters, so it's really a moot point.

Meh I'm ok with Price in net, my guess is that if we lose it'll be because we can't score again

Why do you say that?

Unless you meant "for Price to get pulled, Canada would have to give up a 5-spot or worse" then I see what you mean.

But if you meant that Luongo is a huge downgrade if Price went down to injury or early weak goals, I'd strongly disagree.

For the record I thought it was a toss-up between the two goalies at the start. After seeing the 2 games, I thought it was Luongo's crease. I was wrong, and after watching Price handle a lack of shots I think Price was the right choice.

Canada would be screwed because he'd probably have to let in at least 4 goals before being pulled. If that's the case, then we're probably already down a few. I can't see him being pulled in a tight game.

Gotcha. But given the styles of play and the talent involved, if the 4 come early enough I think Canada might still recover from a Price hook.

<-- obvious homer here.

Tim Budong 02-19-2014 02:31 PM

Who cares if its Price or Luongo...

This is the Olympics..

I'm probably one of the rare few out there that isn't hitting the panic button here.

The Americans could barely crack through Russia if Radulov didn't hand them two glorious PPs

There's no reason why Canada can't break the USA at their own run and gun game.

Hondaracer 02-19-2014 03:05 PM

I'm not hitting the panic button because I want the fins to win since price is in net

That's pretty much what the NHL is banking on right now.

I've been more interested in watching Kessel, JVR, Kulemin, and Leafs property Komarov than Canada. Something about this team just doesn't have me getting behind them this time around.

If the goals are soft, I'm hoping Price gets the hook after 2.
I would like to see that happen anyway.

lol, USA wouldn't blow a 4 goal lead...

But either way, both goalies are good enough, and if we lose, goaltending wouldn't be the blame.

punkwax 02-19-2014 07:52 PM

^ Agreed. Goaltending and especially D have been solid. Why an offense with so much fire power isn't putting more pucks in the net is :fulloffuck:

Tim Budong 02-19-2014 08:47 PM

interesting..
