well it depends on the skill level dif of the two,too. for mens, if the team has good flow to the pp, then they want it to continue, greater chance of a goal, also dat fatigue. (except for canucks :fuckthatshit:) some teams do give it up right away. for womens, the extra person off is more of an advantage than the flow. thats just my opinion doe

ya never understood it. if you give the puck away, you get a longer 5 on 3. 8 total players instead of 10 means more ice to work with.

Could a possible reason be that.. most teams practice the penalty kill. Most wouldn't practice a 6 on 5 situation, so there is a higher possibility of a player slipping through the cracks and creating a scoring opportunity.
