Goaltending is so important in elimination situations. If one of our goalies choke, I hope Babcock has the balls to pull that goalie ASAP. I think most goalies, Luigi included, would pull themselves out of a game if it meant losing a, do or die, game. Check ego at the door, so to speak.

So many strong teams at this tournament. I hope Sid and our boys play like there's no tomorrow. Shit only comes around every four years and you don't get too many cracks at it. Playing for your country is an honour.

Wasn't that much of a surprise, but playing in your own backyard and then getting your ass kicked............. can you imagine what would happen if we didn't win gold in Vancouver? Another riot, LOLOLOLL.

Labour camp for Russian coach.

7seven 02-19-2014 08:06 AM

Sounds like the Russian coach was clueless from not knowing he should pull the goalie, continuing the game plan of carrying puck into the zone when it clearly wasn't working and sticking to line combos that weren't working all tourney. I'd say Putin is arranging a trip for the coach to a Siberian prison soon

The daggers were out following Russia’s 3-1 loss to Finland on Wednesday, many pointed in the direction of head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov.

“Coach Bil” came under heavy fire during the postgame media availability — attended by PHT’s Jason Brough — and it proved to be as dramatic a scene as what transpired on the ice..............

according to NHL.com’s Dan Rosen, Bilyaletdinov had to be told by Evgeni Malkin to pull Sergei Bobrovsky at the end of the game for an extra attacker.

Wow, didn't know Sandis Ozolinsh still plays.

duc_evo_sp 02-19-2014 08:34 AM

LOLZ 1-1 Can-Lav
That's enough for me :D

AzNightmare 02-19-2014 08:39 AM

:heckno:

dat fake slap did more then it seemed.
Price didn't fully bite, but already had his legs too wide to push laterally.
All he could do was flop down in the middle of the net at that point.

I still blame the D more than anything of course.

trip 02-19-2014 08:47 AM

wow, lost to Finland?

Maybe they were Russhin to the golf course to Putin on the green

What is going on here? :fulloffuck:

I get Latvia is working hard but.. they have 1 NHL player on their team. I feel like I'm watching the WJC again with the lack of scoring.

AzNightmare 02-19-2014 09:24 AM

:heckno:

I WAS looking forward to the Olympics...
but seems like I'm still watching the same "no-offense" team.

dL 02-19-2014 09:28 AM

Not looking good.

Welcome to the bigger ice surface.

To Latvia's credit, they are playing with a lot of guts and their goalie is standing on his head.

Gumby 02-19-2014 09:31 AM

Look at all of us pessimists! Well if we lose, at least we finished ahead of Russia...

MarkyMark 02-19-2014 09:32 AM

This is the kind of game where we get lots of chances and don't score and then Latvia will get one chance and capitalize, so frustrating

Ch28 02-19-2014 09:36 AM

In for upset.

This is the type of game that is tailor made for it.

Gumby 02-19-2014 09:38 AM

Wow the US team seems to be having no problems with scoring...
