Makes me laugh when people jump to assumptions to make people look bad on RS lmao |

And why waste people's time on CL if you don't plan on trading it  Throughout this thread, I kinda respected your blind passion for the E38. Your post above has reversed those feelings. Happy modding. |
I dont care wether you have the least bit of respect for me or if you have a massive ammount lol. I can do whatever I want and if a post on craigslist and a bet between my dad and I makes you lose respect for me then you need to go to a mental institution because something is wrong with you in the head lmao. Like I said i aint getting rid of it. E38 is still my favorite car and this one in particular has been treating me pretty well for the ammount I have driven it. (insured for a month driven every day by my father and I) Only problem so far is a leaky valve cover gasket which is common on the m62, ill be replacing as soon as it gets to my house along with the timing chain guides I ordered. So please, unless you are telling me information I actually give a fuck about and not your stupid bantering please do not post on my thread. and for the people who are telling me i cant afford it, I got a new job and have been pulling in 1600$ every 2 weeks, keep in mind im 16 and have no bills to pay. So im 100% sure ill be able to afford this car for all the people who were saying I wont be able too. Rev scene has been nothing but a place to go and get your car or yourself hated on for me I dont even know why i bother sigining into rev scene. |
It is disrespectful of others time to feign the serious interest in trading the car, but I digress. This is something you'll learn as you grow older, hopefully. What're you doing that you're earning $1600 every 2 weeks while being a student? I'm genuinely really curious. |
either working 11 hours a day, 7 days a weeks making minimum wage, or bsing or working for his own dad. |
Or selling weed at school :high: |

2) If you're actually 16, the only job you'd of been able to get is minimum wage. That means you work ~80 hours per week to GROSS $1,600 bi-weekly 3) You're very childish. |
this isn't a witch hunt, let's not treat it like it is. he's sixteen, and he's entitled to behave like it, because we're not on an eighteen/nineteen and older website. we should thus not be belittling the kid, but rather offering guidance based on our greater life experience. and if he doesn't listen to said guidance, we need to remember we likely wouldn't in his place either. i earned fifteen per hour in high school, so he does have the potential to earn twenty plus per hour like he's suggesting. he's likely working in construction over the summer for his dad/dad's friend, and that's not only laudable, but also the reason i'm curious because i'd like to hear what trade. finally, sixteen hundred biweekly is easily four or five times the average biweekly earnings of his friends so he's deservedly proud; even if bragging over your earnings is not exactly good form. i would also note, one of the users bashing Zyzz recently said that he earns only slightly above eight fifty biweekly. so, how 'bout everyone in here grow up? |
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: Preach it. And im working with my friends dad making good pay pressure washing and cleaning windows and gutters 40 - 50 hrs a week depending on how busy we are. I sure do love getting bashed for buying my favorite car :) If I took the advice of the people who hated on me and the e38 then I would not have one in my garage or have the joy of driving it or working on it. I thought car guys would understand the feeling of owning a car you know will be a pain in the ass to maintain but you do it because you love it, clearly most don't. |
when we were your age, we all would agree wholeheartedly. we're older though, and we depend on reliable vehicles because we have greater draws on our finances and time...... and that's where beige toyota corollas come from... i did a bit of pressure washing during my teenager years, it's a not a bad gig during the summer. |

$1600 for 2 weeks @ 40-50 hrs = $16 - $20 per hour. I'm out of the loop since I was 16 over 16 years ago, but that seems like a great wage doing what you do. I have to believe that amount is before tax unless you're being paid under the table. Anyway, I'm not trying to pile on. You do you. However, there is some great advice in this thread that you shouldn't ignore. I see more educating than hating in this thread overall (which is a little un-RS like, admittedly). Try and open your mind to other people's insight/opinion rather than getting all defensive and responding like a chick on Jerry Springer. At the end of the day, you're an enthusiast like many people here. The majority of posts in this thread are trying to help, not hurt you. |
Im not ignoring any of it, the advice about the bad things about the car do not change my opinion on owning one, i believe one of the first things I said was im prepared for ridiculous maintenance |

For a car forum, it seems like everybody here has their heads deep up their asses. If I was 17 I sure as hell would buy a 740, spend thousands of dollars maintaining it and enjoy every minute of it. He can buy a reliable car when he's 30. |
