Registration still hasn't arrived. Was approved on Jan 8.

:okay:

You can always get them to email you as well so save a few days of mail time. I got my STATT, LTATT and my transfer all in 1 email. 1 week from date of transfer

eclipseman 01-19-2015 09:18 PM

After only getting my license back in July, I dove headfirst into the hobby.

Built this AR22 from a 10/22 on boxing day special ($290 all in!) Parts, on the other hand, were way more.

Yeah, if it was a LTATT/STATT that would be possible but AFAIK, gun registrations can't be emailed.

Eternal_SiR 01-20-2015 06:40 AM

its enought for you to get the firearm home. On the letter it says this is your transfer notice, you may now get your ATT to transport firearm home. At least thats what i read.. this is a copy direct from paperwork

This is to inform you that your application to register
the following firearm(s) has been processed. Your new
registration certificate(s) will be sent to you in a
separate envelope.
If the firearms are non-restricted, you may take
possession of them now.
If the firearms are restricted or prohibited, you are
required to obtain an Authorization to Transport to
move or transport the firearms from one place to
another. Please call 1 800 731-4000 for instructions on
how to apply for one.
If you applied to register other firearms than those
listed below, you will be informed of the decision with
respect to those firearms through a separate notice.

Read something similar on CGN. It's a grey area. I personally would wait for the registration, but that's just me. Not worth losing your guns, license or thousands in lawyer fees trying to get it back.

Eternal_SiR 01-20-2015 04:24 PM

packages started showing up for my first AR. Suppose to pick up a few more packages in the next week or so. First thing that showed up today

is this non-restricted?

Eternal_SiR 01-21-2015 05:49 AM

it should be. Looks like a 10/22 with the SR22 kit. Not 100% sure on the barrel length but its its 18.5 then it should be NR. This is my 10/22 with folding stock and is classified as NR

Yeah, that's not an issue for me. I had the firearm shipped to me so I didn't have to pick it up anywhere.

Anyways, the registration came. Going to the range on the weekend.

I hope that all of you that are members at poco to attend to AGM and vote in some new directors.

Every time I want to go out shooting, something comes up. With it getting dark so early still, it sure limits the time one can throw lead down the lanes.

Then I realized I was out of 9mm, low on rimfire, and had a handful of 5.56 left.
I have a ton of 7.62 though.....

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

i'm in the same boat as you.. always something that comes up. Running low on 9's myself.. but just been too lazy to reload.

Zedbra 01-22-2015 04:22 PM

I'm taking a day off work and letting my international student skip school so we can go and shoot. That's the proper set-up.

Eternal_SiR 01-22-2015 06:19 PM

Just got a few more parts, just missing the flaming pig to arrive and it's good to go. Its like lego for big boys

Yes NR...it's a 10/22 tactical so the bbl is 16.12".

Altogether with stock at its' shortest length, I think it's still 30". I've seen a few people on cgn/rimfirecentral in Canada go down to 8" bbls and use a full locked stock. Still NR and looks mighty sweet. Let me see if I can find some pics..

****edit found some pics:

Here are a couple from gcdavidson who lives in Ontario:

I love the SBR PDW look. After i'm done building my current AR, i'm gonna slowly piece together one and buy parts as they go on sale. Gonna make mine along the lines of this. Love the CSS Stock.

eclipseman 01-23-2015 07:04 AM

Yes, my next build will be an NEA 7.5" SBR AR-15. Just have to find one now.

Eternal_SiR 01-23-2015 07:07 AM

I prices it out.. its almost cheaper to buy the NEA 7.5" at $1200... but its the tinker factor of building one from scratch is the more satisfying part

Printed a handstop, finalizing dimensions and reprinting in black. Also printed half my AR upper vise block, still gotta print the other half and the lower vise block too.

It has been pouring rain up here for weeks now, but I don't let that stop me from getting out and shooting.

We have an international student staying with us and he is going back home to Brazil next week, so I wanted to get him out to the range one more time to try some hand guns. I took the day off work and I let him skip school for the day. Civilians are generally not allowed to own guns in Brazil and his parents really liked me taking his son out shooting.

Here is Rapha holding the Dan Wesson up with the 10" barrel

An old Canadian-made Cooey single shot 12g. This thing has a decent kick and was made the year Winchester bought Cooey - so it is stamped with both manufacturer's names.

Here was one of my groupings with the Dan Wesson. 10" barrel, .357 MAG Federal bullets at 10 metres (over 32 feet). The squares on the target are 1" x 1".

And a little video to show it in action and how hard it was raining:

I personally like the magpul AFG gen 1 and not the gen 2. More natual feeling on a carbine grip but if your more into the CQB style grip then any vertical forgrip should be good, just comes down to how it feels in your hand.
