Poor man’s neutered Z4M? Since it’s not a SRT-6 :considered:

If anyone is seriously interested in something similar, except with 325,000km+, original owner, I have a contact who is looking to sell as they purchased a 4Runner.

Since it is basically a 1st gen Mercedes SLK, I'm guessing reliability is gonna be crap (with leaks of all kinds all over the place), and replacement parts are gonna be $$$$, right?

twitchyzero 12-23-2020 06:31 PM

gen 2
everydaydriver on the tube just did a series covering the r171

That is basically what the m235i is, N55 motor, same as the late model 135i

my wife's got one. 2WD with M performance pack. very under rated car. lots of fun to drive and actually feels like a BMW.

M235 is a fantastic little car, drives awesome. Same size as an e46 m3 only with torque. I’d love to grab one with the 6spd.

whitev70r 12-24-2020 09:53 AM

It's year end and dealers want to make deals for 2020 numbers and quotas. Best time of year to buy a car from dealer. For that M235, go in after Christmas at $20K cash and see what happens. Could be a real deal to be had here.

Teriyaki 12-24-2020 09:55 AM

$20,202.00. Final offer

JDMDreams 12-24-2020 10:10 AM

Does the newer 235 still have all the old turbo bmw issues? Exploding plastics is expected but turbos, fuel pump and carbon build up?
