2003 Corvette Z06

Not sure if posted a while back as it's been up for a while, but new price and I'd say it's a pretty solid deal considering kms and how clean it looks

lowside67 08-03-2015 09:57 AM

Low km and mint yes but you can buy a decent C6 Z06 in the upper 30s these days; these guys thinking their mint C5s are going to be worth near 30 are going to be sitting on them forever.

That car is an ask $27,500 and hope for $26,000 kind of car IMO. If it were black and a 2004 maybe he could ask $29k but even then I doubt it.

Lol where in the world are you finding c6 zo6's for upper 30's? The U.S. ? If so, then meh. Here they still sell between $40-46k.

2002 bmw 330ci Convertible - $8000

Someone should take advantage of this. He is constantly dropping the price as the weeks go by.

Cons: US car, automatic transmission, mileage..?

jpark 08-03-2015 10:57 AM

Anyone familiar with these cars? looks like an okay deal

I have to disagree because my VR6 ginster yellow looks sick and mb_'s old mr2 was very nice. Saw it in person the other day with the new owner.

Some C6 Z06s that are likely available to be bought in the upper 30s only looking as far as Edmonton, there are MANY MORE available if you would consider absorbing $1000 to ship the car across the country or a fun roadtrip...

2006 Z06 $39,900

2006 Z06 $39,988

2007 Z06 $40,000

2007 Z06 $41,500

Also to my original point... here's a decent looking 01 Z06 with less than 90k for $22k which further reinforces that a yellow one with low mileage is likely worth mid 20s only.

There are 5 cars that I have found in less than 5 minutes of searching that appear to be currently available and claim to have no accidents. I would say my logic is pretty well supported.

Thanks,
Mark

Jdmdreams does have some valid points though. For those of us who do not have the skills to turn your own wrenches, getting a newer car with lower Kms is a better deal in the long run. A really good deal on used older cars are only good deals for those people who can trouble shoot and fix issues themselves. Just like buying a fixer upper house.

westopher 08-03-2015 06:14 PM

Oh for sure. Its not a car for everyone. Its not hard to understand why people do love them though. Although, even when it comes down to how much maintenance an older euro car requires, the low cost of entry, and the total lack of depreciation (or even appreciation) can make up for it. So many factors involved its just down to the car you get and what you want out of it.

The s2k posted earlier for 13k 101k km. Has shake/rattle. Clean title. Is it still worth it with that dent? One accident 2360.

* also - not hard to work on. Frustrating, yes - but that's what makes them excellent learning tools. Parts are available, the dealership 5 mins from me can get anything I've ever asked for within a day. The rest is youtube, bimmerforums and split knuckles. These are great cars to work on. And the advantage to getting boned with underpowered USDM cars is that they're extremely robust. If you can change oil, bleed brakes and be willing to ask for help - these might be amongst the last great shade-tree enthusiast cars.

*(my comments reflect E36 ownership - not sure about newer cars)

I wish I could add a good E36 M3 CL buy here, but the market has been pretty dry all summer. Interesting trend...

westopher 08-03-2015 10:06 PM

An acquaintance of mine in Cali just sold his alpine white e36 m3 with 109k miles for 17k USD. The market is dry, and down south people are paying for them.

2006 BMW M Coupe (Z4M) - Volk, KW V3, Brembo BBK | cars & trucks | Edmonton | Kijiji Mobile

2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe (Z4M) | cars & trucks | Edmonton | Kijiji Mobile

What do you guys think of these two deals? I've always like how the Z4M coupe looked.
I normally wouldn't consider a modded car, but the 06 seems like it was very tastefully modded... While the 08 seems like a really good deal.

Very limited production cars, so depreciation will be slow. Tail happy, s54 engine (truly one of the best NA 6's ever made) and beautiful (very subjective, but I love them) styling. I would PPI that modded one and strip the wrap off with my imaginary money if I were looking for one and it checked out. I definitely prefer the s54 MZ3 coupe over the MZ4 however.
