C7 Z51 Corvette
Power stop track day pads, held up well, used maybe 10-20% of them.
The original 9 year old pilot super sports also held up well.

To add onto the previous rant of ABC tire on main st, those dummies only filled my car with 7L of oil..... calls for 9.5, and 10 on track. Good thing i checked before the first lap.....

Car was an absolute riot to drive, minus the one lap where i had to go in due to traction control freaking out and stopping the car

Wow the shop is actually called ABC Tire, I just thought it was a random name to not doxx the shop.

Looks awesome, hope you're hooked now lmao :D

I picked up RE71RS, 275/35/18 and 245/40/18, and shaved almost 5 seconds. It cost me $400/second to break into the (barely) sub-two club LOL. Good weekend with Donk and J.C. but way too damn hot.

I think I warped my rotors at some point because the car would violently shake under hard braking.

Morning sessions I probably had 3-5 hot laps before it got greasy. Afternoon session I had to do 1 hot / 1 cold. Tire seems to like 30 hot. After first session it was 37 left front 34 right front 33 both rear. Definitely got a little greasy by the end of it. The 71RS is a great tire but I don't think I'm fast enough to extract the potential for them to the fullest. I definitely had more fun with the bald Hankook RS4s.

I think all these Axon sessions have created some bad habits for me as I think my lines got worse between October 2022 and July 2023 (Sunday).

Also "hit the apex" way too damn literally. Oops.

Oh also - I didn't experience any problems on track this time.

Which rotors and pads are you using?

You're gonna need carbon rotors soon.

I'd highly recommend riding in some other cars and/or getting an instructor to drive your car, there is a lot of time on the table with your lines.

They look so off.... Maybe I just don't see FK8 with OEM wheels.

Gonna be running a Mission track day in reverse (direction) next Friday with Speed Fanatics. I think it is gonna mess with my head because that's exactly how I always feel when I drive the reverse court in Gran Turismo. But hopefully it'll be an interesting experience!

Braking on the front straight into T9 with decreasing radius sounds like it'll be a shit show for less experienced.

I feel like (using current corner numbers) exiting 7a towards a wall and the bump mid corner of 6 before braking for 5 is going to be really sketchy. The rest should be okay though. I'm sure they've tested it out, cool to see a new spin

In the normal orientation, T2 is a decreasing radius turn after a short straight as well. Obviously braking on the front straight and turning into T9 will be done at a much higher speed, but I suspect it shouldn't be anything too crazy.

I'm pretty sure Speedy Goat or VCMC has done autox events on the road course in reverse direction before. Naturally, they added a bunch of cones to make it more interesting, so speeds are much lower. But I don't know how much they have used cones to alter the existing turns.

For now, my wishful thinking would say that exiting T7a shouldn't be too different than exiting T6 in the normal configuration -- in both cases, you're still exiting towards a wall. The car would be coming into T7a hot and be less stable than the normal orientation going into T6 -- the car should be transitioning after T7b, and hence the lower stability. But that instability / transition should be manageable?

I'll keep an eye out for the T6 bump though. Thanks for mentioning that.

Kudos to the fella for putting the province and the affected community ahead of his own interests.

New fuel economy record: 39.9L / 100km. Hopefully pass that on the weekend....
Mission was a fun track, was expecting alot worse.
Defs harder on the brakes, may have slightly warped them, they sound kinda rough on the way home. Brakes at 350C after a cool down lap.

Good lap and I love that fuel economy you're getting! You gotta aim to break 40L next time lol~

Couple of quick comments about your driving line:

T4
- You want to hug the wall (on the right) for a bit longer and turn in later
- If you review the video, you can see that your Vette is already turning into T4 by the time it passed the T4 turn-in marker. You want to turn in at the turn-in cone to stretch out the turn into a longer straight (for more acceleration).

T6
- essentially the same thing as T4 -- stay by the rumble strip on the right longer, and turn in later

T8 / T9
- good job for staying on throttle thru that stretch!

T9 exit
- Turn less and aim for the last cone (on the right) leading back to the pit lane. Let the car aim towards the wall and carve a long, gradual curve bringing the car back to the left.

- At any given point in time, your tires can only provide so much grip. If you used some for turning, you'll have less for accelerating. Because it is the front straight, you have all kinds of time to bring the car back to the left side to prepare for T1, so focus on turning less & accelerating more at T9. You will get a much faster lap time because you'll be carrying a lot more speed at the end of the front straight.

- One word of caution about exiting T9 with good acceleration though -- because you are in a Vette, you have gobs and gobs of power to overwhelm your rear tires. If your steering wheel is not straight, it is very easy overpower your rear tires and spin the car. Needless to say, this is BAD NEWS if it happens at the T9 exit. The car will spin and ping pong off the concrete walls on both sides of the front straight, and nobody will be happy. And the unfortunate thing is, even from just my limited first hand experience, I have probably seen it happen at least 4 times over the past 14 - 15 years.

Good luck and I hope you'll keep setting new PBs~!

Shenanigans at Global Time Attack at the Ridge. What a track - I've officially decided it's better than Area 27, though not by a huge margin.
