Already have a set of 15x8 Rays 57DR. Need to buy a set of 205/50/15 200tw tires so PM if you see a good deal out there. I need to adjust coilovers from slammed to track ready and get the car ready for this year (fluid change, pads, etc...)

Fixed the pic. Here's my slammed Fit. Bought it modified with T1R headers, BC Racing Coilovers, and short shifter.

Doesn't look that low. How much was it dropped? And are the coils still adjustable or seized?

bcrdukes 01-28-2024 12:17 PM

I think he'll need to figure out what alignment he wants to run along with what the ride height will allow him to.

jcmaz 01-28-2024 12:59 PM

I know that the Fits respond well to camber so I'll need to pick up some camber bolts for the front, aiming for -2 to -3* camber if possible.

It has been lowered at least an inch. That front lip is mangled due to how low the car is.

I hope they aren't seized but I haven't had the time to check on them yet.

bcrdukes 01-28-2024 01:10 PM

Time for some custom JRZs :troll:

I feel people don't realize, the track is just somewhere you can push your car without the fear of killing a pedestrian or cops on your ass.

A fully prepped dedicated track day with extra tires and brakes is cheaper than 1 impound

Has anyone done a track day event at The Ridge in late May? Curious what your experience has been weather-wise. I'm a bit squeamish on doing track days in heavy rain due to a 20+ year old convertible.

Any tips/hints on logistics i.e. lodging, food, gas etc? I'm anticipating registration of the PCA track day on May 30th. Thanks in advance.

donk. 02-05-2024 06:46 AM

Not may....

As for logistics..... It aint rocket science, you drive down a day early, eat, sleep, go to the track, track, go home :suspicious:

If you need gas, its 10 minutes away from the track, same with walmart, food, etc
Or if your bicbaws you load up your car with jerries

Tricks? Harass your friends and revscene members to go down with you. = Split hotel room bill, and backup incase something happens

Fun fact, my profile pic was taken on the way down to ridge

bcrdukes 02-05-2024 06:57 AM

Are you coming? It's all makes/models.

Registration starts April 1 (no link available yet) but I'll share it once it's available. You need to do a tech inspection form and submit it 10 days before the event.

Edit: Preview of details - PCA PNWR Driver Education
I haven't been to a PCA PNWR track day but I take it that hitting record personal bests are not the best place for this. Heed this with caution.

Wow wow wow, take me out to dinner first....

Post the link, odds are high. I wanna do at least 2 track days this "summer"
Hopefully the day you pick is a sat or sun (drive down friday / track sat + drive back) (or drive down sat / track sun + drive back)

bcrdukes 02-05-2024 07:12 AM

lol sorry donk. May 30 is a God awful Thursday!

Just updated my post above. I'll take you out to dinner. You pay. :D

Consider Turn 2 - They have a track day that's on the Saturday/Sunday. I won't be available for the dates proposed as I'll be back in Toronto. https://www.turn2lapping.com/projects-6

mb_ 02-05-2024 07:45 AM

April/May can be a hit and a miss when it comes to weather. But closer to summer, the less likely it'll rain lol

I wasn't going to any track day this year but if dukes goes... :considered: WhatsApp me the days you're in the west coast :D

donk. 02-05-2024 08:06 AM

Thursday :/

Odds are slim

bcrdukes 02-05-2024 08:09 AM

I'm slow and I suck, and I don't know the difference between left and right. I am a danger on the track. :D

roastpuff 02-05-2024 08:55 AM

Thursdays... that's hard :/

bcrdukes 02-05-2024 09:15 AM

Black flags for everyone!

SSM_DC5 02-05-2024 03:08 PM

Is that $400 USD or Cad for a Thursday?

My wife and I stayed at ‘extended stay america’ which was maybe 20-25 minutes away from the ridge. Was a great price but also has a full kitchen so it’s pretty chill if you decide to stay the extra night.

I never liked driving home from the ridge the same day as the event. I’m way too mentally fatigued and felt it’s just too dangerous as I’m nearly passing out behind the wheel

bcrdukes 02-06-2024 05:49 AM

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I'll take a look for some hotels in Olympia for a two night stay.

I've been spoiled by my proximity to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park which is about an hour and a half to two hours drive back home but I'm with you on the fatigue and the drive home.

On a separate note, I've confirmed my registration for the HPDE day with PCA CWR at Area 27 on May 21. :)

Traum 02-06-2024 08:56 AM

Have fun at A27! The PCA CWR are a bunch of good folks. Mason, Steve, and Luis are all very friendly and willing to help you get comfortable at a new track.

jcmaz 02-14-2024 07:00 PM

Put my name for a set of Falken RT615k+ on the group buy. Can't wait until they arrive in April

Got soaking wet yesterday but it was really good to learn RWD car control. Started getting comfortable towards the end of the day and used the throttle to steer the car a bit more in order to get more rotation.
