It's the way how he wanted out of the team because he felt the team was simply not good enough for him. Kind of a cop out move, he demanded to be traded to a winning team. He's not an old player on the verge of retirement, where fans feel he deserved to leave to get a shot at winning a cup before retirement. If he simply didn't sign after his contract ended, it wouldn't have left such a sour taste for some fans. On top of that, he claimed he never asked to be traded during the season, but then changed his answer during the off-season. A lot of fans were calling him out for being a liar. It also didn't help that he isn't exactly a humble guy in general, he's not really as "elite" as he thinks he is. Doesn't really help his case either now in hindsight, Canucks seem to be doing a pretty good job in the standings, Bonino is pretty much on par with Kesler in the stats, and our #17 is more effective than Kesler was. I personally don't really care that much. He can do whatever he wants. But just off the top of my head, those are reasons why I can think of why the fans hate him now. |
was at game today, pretty sure the boos psyched kesler out lol. All in all, it was a very entertaining game regardless of canucks losing. It's a back to back game and the canucks played hard against the number 1 team in our division. |
Kesler signed for less, leaving money on the table which benefited the team in the cap department. He earned his NTC and owed the team nothing. It's a business. |

However, we had the lead going into the 3rd period... |
It's because canucks fans are typically quite dumb. |

Just checked out Hodgson's stats for this season...strong The Hockey News: Insight on the NHL and the world of hockey inb4 "But Buffalo is a shitty team!!!" |
When you can't play defensive you will get no where in the NHL... I have a feeling he's going to be an AHL star for the rest of his career |

Kesler essentially stopped playing for us and demanded a trade to to only two teams handicapping us. When you sign a contract, you sign to play; not to quit when things get rough. Kesler is a bitch the way he left, and its too bad you can't see it. |

AHL star for the rest of his career? :suspicious: He has shown he has potential, and he had a few decent seasons. We can be butt hurt and debate his +/- and how he was set up for "easy scoring" situations, but it would be stupid to not think he had potential to be top 6 if he had proper development/support from management. |

who cares though? what's done is done. it is business, you're the one who sounds like an entitled idiot fan who got too butthurt when Kes left. Nowhere in any contract does it tell you how to behave. He did what he had to. We got a decent return, case closed. Why the fans were booing last night is beyond me...classless and sounded like a bunch of fucking crybabies edit (forgot to add this): http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/8045.../Nicholson.gif |

It's business, they paid for the ticket. There's no obligation on the ticket telling fans who they need to support. Me personally, anyone not in a Canuck uniform is dead to me. Unless I have them in my hockey pool. :) |
I guess you guys missed the standing ovation he got at the beginning of the game. The boo's were just good fun stop over analyzing shit. |
either way it was pretty stupid. yeah, fine, whatever you paid for your ticket. The fact that they'd expend energy to boo the guy when some home games you couldn't muster a whisper from the rog is sad. and with that argument, we go back to the very first post. it is business. no one was a bitch for leaving because it was within their rights. he's in my pool LOL |

He's in my pool too. And I'm actually kind of disappointed with his stats so far :okay: |
ehhh he's always been streaky. If he puts up 60 this season and doesn't miss more than 15 games that's pretty much my expectation. yeah it's not a big deal, pretty sure some people started and others just felt compelled to join in just cause, kinda like the riots, it only takes a few idiots to start one. i'm lookin forward to the different teams the next few games. i swear to god it feels like we've been playing the fucking oilers every fucking game. |

I get that Kesler earned his NTC. He has every right to reject any trades. That said, the NTC does not give him the right to demand to be traded AND then limit management to the two teams of his choice. I wish him the best though and hope that beast mode will return come playoffs. |
It was one team. |
In other news.. anyone heard the severity on Hammer's injury? Didn't look good. |
All speculation right now but last I heard Canucks said he could be "out a while." Apparently they said the same about Sestito, who is apparently out 4-5 weeks. There is a possibility that he may be out a month or so is what the media are guessing right now. They're also ruling out ACL because he hung around after the game answering questions from media, which wouldn't normally happen if it were an ACL. |
Milan got dropped with one punch. SUCKER |
Should be interesting to see if the department of player safety will hand down any discipline for this? Lucic instigates the fight with the shot to Prout's head but doesn't look like he wants to drop the gloves and certainly had the time to do so. Prout seeing its Lucic is probably assuming they are going to fight and doesn't want to let Lucic have the first shot but until the other player drops the gloves that's a sucker punch IMO, can't say I blame Prout and happy to see Lucic on the receiving end of one of the many he's given out |
He was walking no boot, no crutches, no cast casually greeting fans after the game, with a significant limp |
Lucic will say he wa suckered punch but he was waiting for his chance to drop and throw and Prout beat him to it. They fought last year also. |
