European sports fans seem to care more about getting themselves over rather than enjoying the actual event they're going to

got my two sweaters back from Pacific coast cresting. Man, for the price they do excellent work, almost half the price of places like the hockey shop etc. and even better quality stitching, +1 for them

edit* only had the team Canada jersey done by them, i had them stich the 2011 cup patch onto the blue home jersey though

all name + numbering on the canada jersey, and sewing the patch on the blue came to $72

The Vancouver Southsiders supporters club for the Whitecaps tried doing that here. They were promptly told to sit down and shut up despite breaking up the traditional library quietness with the same chanting they did at soccer games.

lol at people losing their minds over what i said

i never said be quiet...but standing room only?
fuck that, i wanna be able to sit when I want to

standing room only essentially gives the aquilinis permission to cram as many people as they can to one section and label it as a "supporter section"

tell me what's so great about standing around for the rest of the fucking game and being in a clusterfuck of people who may or may not be annoying as fuck

i'm all for a lively atmosphere but standing room only isn't my idea of fun

If its a lot cheaper and more people can afford to go that wouldn't be able to with normal ticket pricing then I think it would be a great idea.

Why are you so concerned in the first place? if you don't like it don't get tickets in that section...

6o4__boi 09-09-2014 12:38 PM

knowing the Aquiliinis it'll be priced the same price as the nosebleed seats and then those seats will get bumped up which kinda blows for me because if i wanted the cheaper seats i'd be stuck in standing room only.

that's my primary area of concern and its a pretty real possibility. If i wanted standing room only i'd go to a rave or a concert.

why guess or think and get pissed off when no one is even sure yet? That's what I find funny and standing room only seats will be cheaper then regular since no one would pay the same for that

6o4__boi 09-09-2014 01:06 PM

lol but i'm not pissed or anything, i just don't like the idea of standing room only at a game. That's just me. I'm not a quiet hockey fan, quite the opposite, but the idea of being stuck in standing room only repulses me. I know I don't HAVE to go there. But chances are I'll end up there because it's all I can afford.

Yes I get that my argument is based on a flimsy what-if scenario but that's just my personal opinion. I just didn't like that I was labelled as one of those bourgeois-quiet-as-fuck fan because I don't like the idea of not being able to sit when I want to.

Hondaracer 09-09-2014 02:14 PM

I'd be down for some cheapo standing room tickets just as somthing to do, go down chill there have some drinks then go on with the rest of your night

Although if it tried to replicate the southsiders type thing I wouldn't be there because I find them super annoying and borderline obnoxious

As opposed to not having them, and being unable to afford anything at all.

Sounds like you're just complaning for either:

a) the sake of complaining
b) opportunistic pot-shot at the owners
c) both of the above

Good documentary. I don't agree with the underlying (and obvious) message, however.

These players make a substantial amount of money and know the risks/sacrifices involved.

The player's union itself voted around 98% in favour of keeping fighting a few years back. Bettman is right, there's no appetite to ban fighting on all fronts.

The only reason people care so much is because these things happen to celebrities (as in people in the public's eye).

How many John Q. Public jobs involve risk of serious injury (or worse)? How many result in long-term health issues? Most of these people won't make in a lifetime what Boogaard made in 1 year in New York.

Tegra_Devil 09-09-2014 08:15 PM

Got tix to the whole NHL youngstars tourney in penticton....looking forward too seeing all the future talent on all the west coast teams...sad that Poirer, wotherspoon, wolf, reinhart, knight and jankowski arent able to play. there are a few more that i wanted to see that arent playing either :(

Tim Budong 09-10-2014 12:14 AM

wanna watch canucks games on value?

pick Ice Pack A. at the $550 level per seat
I love my corner row 15s

its affordable..plus the fact that you can do 7 monthly payments. its not bad

Ice Pack A includes

Washington
Montreal
Anaheim
San Jose
Minnesota
Florida
New Jersey
Dallas

why not.
