Sharks have a bigger fan base plus Anaheim ...

As if Africa even cares about Hockey, let alone a random team like Winnipeg.
You'll think at best, they would be able to name 3 NHL teams, and Winnipeg would definitely not be one of them.

Africa is a big fan of the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Vancouver Canucks. :okay:

There's no hockey in Alabama. Just trucks, NASCAR and kissing your sister.

Cam Talbot of the New York Rangers played his NCAA hockey in Alabama.

Wonder what happened?

I wouldn't say it's quite like Barker v2 for a couple of reasons ...

1) Del Zotto can actually skate to begin with and hasn't suffered crippling leg injuries like Barker did.
2) Del Zotto can actually play defense (to some degree) unlike Barker (MDZ was 32nd in hits, 86th in blocked shots, 57th in takeaways amongst defensemen over the past 3 seasons).

The issue w/ MDZ is that his offensive game (which was his bread and butter), has dropped off. It's especially reflected in his PP usage.

3 years ago, he was averaging 251 seconds per game in PP time.
2 years ago, that was down to 174 seconds per game.
Last year, dwindled down to 79 seconds per game.

Not surprisingly, his point totals have dropped through the floor as well. And, surprisingly, this was as his offensive zone starts INCREASED substantially and he faced softer competition (though with weaker teammates).

I don't think he's Barker lost cause yet, but he needs to get his shit together this year in Philly or he's done.

On Friday night, when I went to look for bios on Nigel Dawes(notes) and Anthony Stewart(notes), I discovered that 5 black players (I'm not going to get into African-Canadian/Swedish/American non-sense) made up 25% of the Atlanta Thrashers dress-out roster for this weekend's games (Oduya, Kane, Dawes, Stewart and Byfuglien). Unfortunately, I don't have access to NHL records, but would that 25% constitute an NHL "record"?

I agree it can use a bit of work. How about this? I made a quick revision to make it more exciting.

So we're the Sharks rev.2.

That logo is terrible. It's such a cop out to just use the name of the team or the city as the logo...like those terrible Minnesota and Colorado jerseys.

Luongo says mentoring Lack, Schneider 'worked pretty well': 'Both of them were able to steal my job'

Quote:

I was with them when they came in the league and they were rookies. I tried to act the right way, and be professional on and off the ice, and hopefully they took something away from that and brought it to the way they approach the game or the way they play it.

I think it worked pretty well 'cause both of them were able to steal my job, so I was a pretty good mentor.

Hondaracer 08-07-2014 07:44 PM

Lu, too nice for his own good

scored another Lu this week for $90 from sport check, sweet deal and last L they had in inventory. Never had an actual Blue home besides some fake chinese Kesler i was given and refused to do anything with so figured i needed dat Lu

also got the black Canada as a gift so might get Lu tossed on that one as well..

gotta just build my office now and i'll have 4 Lu's and my signed Ovi hanging on the wall lol, you like Lu bro?
